Right. This is strange.

cheriepalourde joins the Tori Amos community on LJ to ask very, very stupid questions like, has Tori has ever started her period at the piano? Cue some eyerolling and irritation, while others feed the troll/humour the crazy person.

Later, this same troll asks if Tori's fingers are flattened down from playing the piano so much. This leads to more TROLL! vs. "Yay for silly questions" responses and as a bonus, an in-depth discussion on callouses, with one poster even providing photographic evidence.

Um. Yeah. Okay!

11:49am: Small ViggOrli wank
So over at Badfic_Mainline, limeysugar posted about a badfic that was posted to fellowshippers. billysmycupatea objects to the mocking going on (She might be the author, which is probably why the story has been taken down):

Look, it's one thing to critique someone else's words, but it's a whole different thing to go as far as to link to the person's story for everyone to read and give the person a bad reputation. Honestly, do you people have nothing better to do with your boring little lives? Try reading more than one paragraph before you go off spouting criticisms.

It's a bit small, but it's got potential.

12:01pm: It was inevitable...PMK wank
Listen, my friends, to the tale of one Krissie Yukari, a member of the Peace Maker Kurogane LJ community. Krissie has graced the community with many, many posts of her fanart and dialogue fan fiction. Krissie is also the founder of PeaceMaker Kurogane College: "It is here that the characters of PeaceMaker Kurogane come to America......and end up attending college..along the way they meet a girl named..." Guess. I dare you. FYI, for those of you who aren't familiar with the series, Peace Maker Kurogane is set in 19th-century Japan.

She gets some positive reviews, but Krissie still feels like people aren't paying enough attention to her, so she makes some apology posts saying "I'm sorry my fics suck." This time she gets some polite, helpful feedback, pointing out obvious things like characterization and her self-insert character. And still, one of her friends comes back with "OMG how can you be so meen?" Krissie herself steps in to invoke Snacky's Law and angst about her Dark Soul.

Updates: Her own personal defense brigade Onegai_sensei has created a community for persecuted fans. And Krissie's put her own journal into a lockdown...

2:13pm: Nice compact wank
Ah Jason Isaacs fans, there aren't a hell of a lot of them but they can still bring the cute ickle baby wank and I'm bored this afternoon so....

Seems that Jason is going to be in three episodes of The West Wing coming up here real soon. All well and good, it'll be a treat to see a good actor in a good show, right?

3:42pm: Final Fantasy Wank.
ender___ has been posting in the finalfantasyart community on lj starring not just Final Fantasy characters, but an original character (we'll use that term as to let FWers decide what else it may be referred to I'm just reporting this one, not making judgments on it).

Well, laceyleopard posts a bit of a sniping remark at ender___ asking:

Linda Holmes at MSNBC thinks American Idol is all about "The People". Bound to piss off all IdolFen, AikenFen in particular.

No actual wank that I've found yet, but something like this is just too spoogetastic for the fangirls to pass up. All we have to do is keep an eye out.

furry_politics on LJ is an interesting place. The idea of the group is that furries can debate the politics of the day...but it is the members that are the more interesting than the actual politics. Here we have some sort of civil war in progress, between the right-wing American Bushite furries, and the liberal left-wing British furries. And every single one of the buggers is trying to piss the other side of as well as they can. What is wanky, however, is that these are people who debate their politics, human politics, while saying they are animals. Shouldn't they be going on about packs? Anyway.

Here posts the Glorious Leader - he shows a tendancy to dislike "witty banter." He also invokes that law that I just can't remember about abusing your dictionary for no point at all. Someone remind me?

However, it is when the problem of the posibility of aborting homsexual foetuses raises its ugly head that the fur starts to fly. (Intentional punning, kill me quickly). Cue the wondering about baby gaydar, the admittance that the post has been edited, and accusations of trolling.

Very little wank, I know, but then the entire community when added together as a concept is an entire spoogerific idea, which sorts of oozes between posts.
