1:00am: Slash ruins the nobility of the the characters. And it's dirty
In the Lord of the Rings Community at LJ, here's what anobodygirl says about slash and LOTR fanfic...

Okay, this is a silly question but...

Does it bother anyone else that there is LOTR slash?

I mean, for me personally, it just kind of ruins the nobility of the characters, you know?
I've never actually read any good LOTR slash, but I've read slash.
And it's dirty.
And reading about Legolas and Aragorn getting it on in Fangorn Forest really isn't my cup of tea.

And obviously I understand that it's not my place to judge them.
This is just my personal opinion.
And I was just wondering what everyone else thought.

Avast, mateys, I bring ye more wank from the land of RPS. And this time it's not even an 'RPS is eeeeevol!' wank!

Rammstein (*prods* Remember them? The German loonies in the first scene of that godawful Vin Diesel xXx movie?) have over the years attracted a fairly large fanbase that periodically explodes into towering heaps of splooge. This time it manages to erupt from within the relatively small but cultish slash faction, on the rammstein_pimp community, which is mostly devoted to making slashy references, squeeing over the bandmembers, and generally venting all one's base fangirl instincts.

It begins, so far as I can tell, when minxfic asks for suggestions on what to call a new fic archive for all the slash fics of sister community the6. At which point several people tell her there's already an archive out there (and what fandom can have more than one archive? shock! horror!), and things quickly descend into squabbling over said existing archive and its maintainer. Blah blah.

Minx posts a response, and slackerbitch immediately jumps on her. Catfight ensues, setting the stage for...

Primo Wanko. Slackerbitch opines that fangirls are stupid, this community is too cliquish, none of you like me, etc etc, and of course Snacky's Law makes it in by the fifth paragraph.

Point. Laugh. Boggle. Whatever.

4:22pm: Mini-wank on bowie_daily: How DARE they taint Bowie's image with Avril Lavigne and 50 Cent?

Highlights include: Avril's a flake! - Avril can't even pronounce the word Bowie! - Avril's never even HEARD of Bowie!!!

Like I say, a small wank but a cute one.

This may be off-topic or even totally out of line, since I'm hardly a mod, but I just felt like a few things should be brought up for all the nice new folks:

1. "If you want to go trolling or harassing people for the fun of it, then do us the courtesy of leaving the community first."

2. "Please do not link to a minor's entry in fandom_wank unless the entry is in a community."

3. I don't think the user info actually mentions this, but protected entries are off-limits, even if you're on that person's friends list. If it's locked, it's not fair to drag that out into the open, wanky or not. An entry that was public but then locked after wanking started--that's a grey area, and I don't know the ruling on that. Anyone?

4. If it's not fandom-related (politics, religion, etc.), it goes in otf_wank. If you're involved, it goes to i_wank. There's also fandom_rant, fw_offline, rpg_wank, gaia_wank, and fandom_lounge.

Feel free to delete this or smack me if this is inappropriate. I would have posted it in fandom_lounge, but wasn't sure that the people who need to see it would have.

5:56pm: Inuyasha Icon War!
kikyounosorrow posts several icons she just made to the inuyasha livejournal community.

At the very bottom is this icon:

First on the scene, we have the canon rape accusation via icon. It turns into an all out icon war.

And then someone says the icon is mean spirited!

And the crowd goes wild. Careful if you're sitting in the first ten rows, you might get splooged on.
