2:24am: Her hed is...well, you know.
Apparently thanks_thankyou got some anonymous flame for her Queer As Folk Gale/Randy RPS. I can't find the flame, only her references to it, so I guess she deleted it.

Her response to this is to say Oh my god I am never writing again EVA, which of course leads to 34 comments of ((hugs)) and other nausea-inducing stuff.

And of course, less than 24 hours after the "I'm never writing again post", she posts more fic. It's another Gale/Randy RPS fic where Randy is reading her LJ and feeling sorry for her because she got an anonymous flame. In the fic, Randy calls the anonymous flamer a cunt. And Gale in the fic says he remembers meeting her, and he wants her to blow him.

And it gets even more disturbing. Her LJ bio has a picture of her Photoshopped with Gale, and a picture of her Photoshopped into a still of Brian's framed photos, with the caption: "But of course, if Gale wants a female version of Randy, he can come my way. Same natural blonde. Natural blue eyes. Same exact height at 5'8". Me and Randy are the same (except for that whole penis issue). So, here's my fictional family." The picture is also posted here.

1:52pm: First of two comics-wanks... Micah Wright, fake Ranger.
Found through a friend. I suppose the best way to introduce this would be to quote him, as I'm afraid I'd never heard of this creator before now...

"I can't fucking believe this. Micah Wright has long been someone who I've respected and whose work I've greately admired. Oh, there's just so *much* wank, I can't post it all. I think I'll have to settle for the bits where Micah digs himself in deeper...

For example, the confession on Delphi wasn't the original version. Newsarama quotes him blaming the media for the lie by their not catching him earlier. ( Quoted here, although Newsarama is accessible to everybody. Don't miss the wank in their comment threads. )

ETA: Comic Book Resources also has an article on the situation. It includes a quote of (Very Big Name) comic creator Kurt Busiek's post to Micah's thread, where he told him, "Stop defending yourself. It only makes it worse," among other things. It also has a statement by the Washington Post article writer that "the story Micah Wright is peddling (that he outed himself) is another outright lie."

2:36pm: Some people lack a sense of humor.....
As many may know, Saturday Night Live aired a Harry Potter sketch last night. In my personal opinion, it was hilarious....it lampooned every bad HP fic scenario out there. And the majority of the rest of the fans found it hilarious.

Then there are those few that were "offended" by the skit...

Mugglenet.com posted news about the skit, and in the comments, there are a few people who get all snippy about how the skit was inappropriate and in bad taste. There seem to be a few comments that have been deleted since I read it earlier, but you can bet this spills over into the other hot spots in the HP fandom.

10:16pm: Second comics-wank -- and now for something completely different.
This isn't new or particularly groundbreaking, it's just very very strange.

Once, there was a semi-famous troll who used to post (from about 1994 to 2002) to the rec.arts.comics.* and rec.games.frp.* Usenet newsgroups. Most people figured "Hitesh Shah" (one of his many pseudonyms, as well as "C++" and "tsr0") was some variant of paranoid schizophrenic. But his basic deal was that he'd created the ultimate RPG. Every couple of weeks, he'd post incoherent numbers listing the stats of everything, from molecules to trees to Spiderman's Aunt May to Galactus. Then he'd follow up a day later with "corrections" to his mad calculations. Oh, and he seemed to believe that Stan Lee had created the universe (not just the Marvel Universe, but everything), and was controlling people's minds.

Eventually, most people killfiled him, and only newbies would respond. It also seems like people got Google to cancel or delete Hitesh's posts, so that when I was reminded of my favorite insane statistician (because of the "nipplage wank", naturally), all I could find on Google Groups were thread replies, but none of the original posts.

So, on a whim, I wondered if I could find him anywhere else on the web. Horrifyingly... I did.
