We had a fun little bit of wankery on the Police mailing list this month.

It all begins when a mysterious creature named CareTalk posts a ( nonsensical rant about Howard Stern )

Michelle asks, "Who named you official spokesperson for Gordon Sumner?", for which CareTalk has no reply except to then post an announcement for the new "Official Police Fan Club" -- including a bunch of URLs, none of which are working yet, nor does she answer any challenges as to how she got permission launch an official club.

It also starts spamming the list with newsletters from the Official Sting site, "Ethical Websites Associated with The Police", and another post about banning pornography that proclaims "There isn't a person alive who can seperate me, and MY 3 men, who happen to be The Police. Yet, it is amazing how many idiots try. It makes us laugh in delight." Gollum jokes follow.

There's simply too much good wank that follows to list all the individual posts. Just
start here, look for the "[Police] Attention : Howard Stern " post and basically everything that follows after that. It really gets fun when Sting--sorry, GORDON, as CareTalk/Tabitha insists--shows up himself.

In Metaquotes poubelle posts a quote from choukoumei about the suckiness of the American QaF.

The wank starts when sogay and haruhiko start debating whether or not QaF is 'good' for the gay community.

[As a note I hated the US version of QaF, not because I thought it was hurtful to the gay community but because I thought the characters were completely unlikable.]

Erm first wank and everything - don't shoot me!

For those of you who don't read the papers (or see the news or basically live in a hermatically sealed biosphere), film director Michael Moore has recently been kicking up a shit storm about how Disney don't want to distribute his latest creation Farenheit 9/11 (an unbiased look at how George Bush and the Republicans were responsible for 9/11) for fear of upsetting the President's brother Jeb Bush (who just happens to be Governor of Florida, the home state of Disneyworld) and costing it potential tax breaks and various projects.

Ah, The Org. Most of the time a fun community, but prone to cases of violent stupidity.

Such as this one. CArnesen formally requests that member NME be banned because "OMGIDIDSUCHAGOODJOBANDHEINSULTEDMEEEEE!!!111one!"

As a regular lurker at The Org, I'll contend that NME is a loudmouthed jerk. But so are a lot of people there. If people are allowed to be banned for simply being jerks, then half the community needs to get booted out the door.

Of course, the sane people have to stop the wank short by bringing in the many voices of reason. *sniffle* C'mon, Org! I want my mockery!

11:52pm: The stupidity hurts....alot.....
Over at the official Tribeworld BB, the fans are getting ready to wish one of the actors from the show a happy birthday. The girl who runs his Official site, Danni, starts a birthday book for him online. This is where the wank starts.....over what age he actually is. It seems that Tribeworld has him listed as being born in 1980. He's actually born in 1976. Which Danni, and a few others, try to point out to the rest of the fans....who can't seem to grasp the concept that "OMG TW MADE A MISTAKE!". Its not like its the first time they fudged an actors DOB......

Anyways, its getting good as some user named Sandra tries to be big and mature in her attempt to force Danni to say she's wrong.....which she's not. Its small, but its amusing....
