1:23am: I still think Gackt is a sound a cat'd make...
The LJ community anti_gackt in unusual in that... well... most of the members like Gackt. However, you can't say you're a 400 year old Norwegian vampire who claims to speak fluent English (which no one else can understand) without coming off as a little silly.

Charmingly makes the mistake that anti_gackt is in the same spirit as most other anti communities, and posts a link to her sticking it to the Gackt fangirls here.

The anti_gackt people are not impressed.

Edit: Found a gem on her LJ referencing it. Since I can't link to it, I'll just cut and paste )

She totally didn't mean to start that flamewar. Totally.

1:54am: QAF (US) -- Fan tells Randy Harrison like it is! Or, you know, not.
OK, this is my very first time posting here, and feel free to smack me down if this isn't wank. Especially because I tried to read the most recent wank concerning rivier and I came out of it not knowing how to make heads or tails out of anything, including what's a good wank and what is trolling? @_@;;

Anyway, back in the QAF fans community, concqafan4truth posts the following letter

Dear Randy, you're a mysogynistic bastard, among other things, and BTW you're hot! )

The person, who has obviously created the account a few... minutes ago? Maybe an hour? (I'm not in the same time zone so I can't tell) explains the reason to post the letter at QAF fans in "OMG They abused the person because they had poor grasp on the English language. They are MEAN!" fashion: This was originally posted at the Yahoo group called QAF-BrianandJustinspoilers. It was deleted there for being "off topic", even though the administrators of the group apparently did not consider the subject of writing Randy Harrison a letter to express frustration off topic a week ago. Because the person who posted that message wasn't able to use proper English, members were allowed to jump all over that post.

I'm not sure if the person (troll?) means the person who wrote the letter does not speak English as a first language or is (ahem) maybe too stupid to use proper English? The poster does not explain him/herself too properly either. O_oU

(I must give props to the members of the community for being sane and not taking the bait. Heh heh. Considering previous wank from the same fandom, it's a relief.) :D

PS: OK, I had never checked the moods before posting this. They are fucking awesome! B-D

4:38pm: The Haven Project (or, "Pretentious? Moi?")
The Haven Project is an "expandable archive for Orlando Bloom fandom slash stories. The stories selected have been reviewed by a panel of knowledgeable slash fans and writers, and have been found to be exceptional." (from the FAQ)

Okay, so that's just a little wanky. Reading further down in the FAQ, though, we get to really wanky. For example: )

8:59pm: It's Billy's turn!
Dom and Orlando have had so much attention the past month or so. Poor Billy was left on the wayside. Or was he?

Pantaloons is the unofficial official Billy Boyd forum since the one on BillyBoyd.net got closed down. Their rules state that do not allow direct linking to blog and livejournal entries on the forums with an extra star next to blogs & LJ which bash Billy's girlfriend, Ali.

For the love of me, I cannot find the beginning of this argument but apparently... )

10:04pm: Stylizing is what you do when you draw in all the little details, and other such fine art critique
Over in elfwoodrant, [info]beatprogeny posts another rant on anime bishounen posts a completely unrelated to bishounen rant about the lack of visible body hair on anime men. It's only a few hours later, but idiocity flows freely from all directions already.

Not sure if it should belong in f_w or otf_w, but we're talking FanQuarter and debates on the proper ways to do fanart, so I'll drop it in here for now. Now I might be a rant-happy Elfwood wanker myself, but I've don't think I've ever seen an argument there where both sides parade so... dumb arguments that I can't even find the energy for a Devil's Advocate comment. Yet, it is the moment of art historic perspective that really warms my heart...

10:55pm: Gaia and fandom: when Wanks collide
This is kind of fandom_wank material, and kind of gaia_wank, but since I know very little about Gaia, I hope you'll all forgive me for posting this here.

Anyway. It's FUNNY.

So, Barefoot Sean posts some art on Gaia, asking for constructive criticism. As you do. This goes on quite well, with him posting numerous examples of his 'fantastic art', until the end of the second page. It is at this point that Major Malfunction points out to the masses that in fact, all this art is by a well-known fantasy artist called Wayne Barlowe. He can't immediately find examples, though, as he knows this because he owns a book of Barlowe's art. Wank immediately ensues. Barefoot Sean informs the masses that he has never heard of this 'Wayne Barlowe' guy, and that any similarities between their art is pure coincidence, oh, and he signs his work 'B' because of 'Barefoot'. Obviously not 'Barlowe'.

The English language is mangled. The word 'frippary' is used, misspelled and horribly out of context.

On page four, Major Malfunction successfully finds two matching examples. Barefoot Sean tells the world that, despite only having scanned the images that day, somehow they have been stolen. After all, you can't trust Russian websites.

A few posts later, he hastily changes his song. In fact, he is a friend of Mr. Barlowe's, and is allowed to use his art, as it was a collaboration. Never mind the fact that it was probably drawn before Barefoot Sean was born.

Much boggling ensues. The wank escalates. A girl in pink shows up to defend, using very bad typing. Many posters fail to read the previous posts.

All in all, everything you could want in your well-balanced wank diet.
