1:00am: Comic feed wank again, now with more pretention!
It's a baby wank still, but I think it has potential. And hell, it amused me already!

The Calvin and Hobbes feed on LJ ([info]calnhobbes) is usually the least wanky of the comics feeds, at least in my experience. But oh no no, not this evening it's not! [info]fidelity_astro has apparently had ENOUGH of people simply posting comments to the effect of "heh, love this one" to the feed, and makes his disgust known with flagitious caps lock abuse. As a bonus, check out the oh so cool icon with the goggles. Oh yeah buddy, I fear your scene cred. The responses generally run along the lines "give me a break ya wanker", and people go on their merry way. Our intrepid OP however continues to reply, including the oh so clever use of parantheticals at the end of comments. Don't miss the fabulous ad hominem attacks and cracks about having a girlfriend (is there a law for assuming no one you disagree with could be cool enough to have an SO?).

All in all it's baby wank, but there's fine potential for development, and I think we'll be seeing some more fine wank out of [info]fidelity_astro in the future!

ETA: Troll in the feed! Thought you ought to know.
4:39pm: Old wank, different fandom: "Liek, I'm sick of teh nu fangirlz! I'm so much betta!!1!!"
It's just a page (and a half) of wank, but it's all coming from a single person! I've checked the memories, but nothing of this kind has come up.

I wish I could know more about F_W's demographics, so that I don't feel like an idiot explaining Jimmy Fallon to what I suppose is a community with a big American contingent. Anyway, for those who don't know him, let's say rapidly that the guy is a comedian who started his TV career in 1998 on "Saturday Night Live", and has been a permanent member of the show until a week ago. He's also briefly appeared in a few movies and done a few other things here and there.

But his big break into the teenage world came when he made a Matrix parody on the 2000 MTV Movie Awards, and then hosted the same show the following year. Millions of girls realized all of a sudden the sexiness and charisma and humor of Teh Jimmeh... and of course SPOILED THE WHOLE FANDOM DAMMIT! for a girl, who then felt compelled to make this web page with the sole purpose of telling off "teh nu fangirlz who weren't ther from teh beginning and go for Jimmeh only for his looks, and don't deserve to meet him before me OMGBBQ!!1!2!"

...obviously forgetting in the process that she sounds exactly like one of them and that there was only TWO years between his debut in SNL and his MTV appearance, so the whole "I'VE BEEN THERE SINCE THE BEGINNING" is a bit... overrated, to say the least.

Oh, and she's got a "guest book" that includes questions like "Are you a teeny booper?" and "When did you first notice Jimmy?". Don't be afraid to answer sincerely, she's here just for the Jimmy love. If only the Message board was working, the wank would be enormous...

I don't know how old this is because, as she says:
"This Site Will Never Be Updated...
THIS IS A PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT...I CREATED THIS PAGE, SOLELY, FOR THE GOOD OF THE AMERICAN PEOPLE."

I thought only books turned into movies (*ahem*) had this kind of old fans/new fans clash (apart from the Manics fandom of course), but this goes to prove that no fandom is safe...

Edited to include the guest book link, thanks to [info]reinhardt.

6:09pm: set phasers for--oh, nevermind. I can't bring myself to say it
In [info]ds9agogo, there was a post. It was deleted and the moderator, [info]skywaterblue announced it over here.

The original post by [info]evilneps is actually here.

I'm too tired to write up a proper summary. In any case, the post seemed to have been deleted on a basis of it using gay as a derogatory term.

And uh, for explanations: Ds9agogo is a community about the show Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, which takes place on a space station and Sisko is the captain that is bald like Picard but not a dirty frenchie with a british accent. That is all.
10:20pm: The Stepford Wanks
On LJ:

Um, I can't not notice if a film (book, song, whatever) is giving me sexist (homophobic, racist, whatever) messages. I can't suddenly become selectively observant.

On IMDB:

If Lord of the Rings ended with everybody dying, wouldn't you have rather known before wasting 3 hours on it?

lets face facts the stepford remake is a white movie for very dull white people, no doubt the same folks who enjoyed straight, white, love actually will like this

On Fametracker:

Glenn & Bette are too old! Nicole's hair is fugly! Christopher Walken=Bad Movie! Etc.
