10:04am: The old LJ-cut switcheroo: multi-fandom wank!
A small wank, but it has growth potential, as they say on Wall Street.

So lily_blossoms, being fed up with several aspects of fandom, decides to "post" a rant about them in fanficrants. Trouble is, the faux-LJ "cut" she used actually links to her personal LJ.

Just in case it gets deleted, here's the original post.

Now, mind you, a lot of people agree with what she actually said. But some offense is taken at the way she said it, and the fact that she did it under false pretenses.

Actually, I've done this a number of times, and the answer has usually been yes. If people don't want to do it, they generally just don't reply. Maybe that's just my experience, though.

10:04am: 'Hate' endangered species; Fandom_Wank to blame!
It seems our friends over at fanfic_hate are having an existential crises of sorts and the hate has all dried up! Are those preaching Smallville BNFs to blame (traffic on recent fandom threads has been 1/10 of the volume of those before the Smallville snooze-fest), or is it all Fandom_Wank's fault?

fandom_wank mods, here's your chance to round up all those annoying anonymice and export them to more welcoming environs!

bowie_daily's a comm on livejournal that revolves around pictures of David Bowie, and only posts with pictures of David Bowie

thethinwhiteduke posts a picture-less post about David Bowie's recent health problems
she's told the post needs a poicture, or it will be deleted
cue a string of self-righteous bitching from thethinwhite duke about how anyone who wants a picture in the post isn't a true fan. wash rinse repeat ... a whole bunch
repeated attempts by other members to explain the concept of "picture community" get ignored in favor of more "if you really loved Bowie, you wouldn't care about the stupid rules!" ranting

is there a juris_imprudence law about declaring who is and who isn't a "true fan"?

10:53pm: Jessica as Dazzler? Say it isn't so!
It seems that Jessica Simpson is up for the role of Dazzler in X3, and the people over at Rangerboard (which is a Power Rangers forum) are in a tizzy....for the most part. We get randomness of "Charmed sucks", "Jessica is better Britney" and "Britney sucks"(which is followed by members gleefully waiting for one of the admins who is a Britney fanatic to see it....seems he takes high offense at peeps slagging off Britney), defending of ickle Jessica, and debate over who in the X-Men movies are actually B-list actors.....
