Didn’t we have Nazi wank recently? I guess it’s the hot-button word of the week.



When Doyle asks about Buffy/Angel auto-archives, Roseveare warns her off wesleyfanfiction.net, referring to the archivist as a nazi.

Enfaith, the archivist, happens to be on Doyle’s friendslist. She’s not pleased. I don’t know why there’s bad blood between them; there’s some complicated story. Anyway, Enfaith posts to her LJ whining about being called a nazi, and calling Roseveare a “stupid bitch.”

In the meantime, the original comment gets deleted off Doyle’s journal as Roseveare starts ranting in her own. And the real fun starts when she goes over to Enfaith’s post and starts arguing her case with everyone, even the people who just stopped by to give the requisite sympathy/support.

3:20pm: Scooped by the Washington Post!
In yet another example of the man being wankier than his fans, the Names & Faces section of today's Washington Post reported the following tidbit:

My internet connection's acting up, so someone will have to confirm that the site I linked to above is actually the site in question.

Though there still remains that burning question: If it's a post reporting on offline paper media which in turn reported on the wanky actions of a former pop star on his website (oh, excuse me, Web site)... where does that post belong? Quick, someone create a new and relevant community for it!

4:05pm: Kerry/Edwards: They Wank Themselves
As those who monitor political_wank already know, the Kerry/Edwards campaign has been generating shipping. Lots of it. Like, faux-tinhattery shipping. It is a thing of beauty and a joy forever and the John Squared lj comm definitely wins the award for funniest RPS locale evar.

But. Inside this merry fandom is a STORM brewing. A storm of MOMENTOUS proportions. It all started when the moderator posted a poll of the community members...

finalrequiem declares, reminiscent of L Neil Smith's libertarian sci-fi, that he'd rather vote for None of the Above but will pick Bush/Cheney instead even though he doesn't like Bush either. When asked why, he declares that because the candidates suck this time 'round, he'd rather keep things the same until they get better ones.

The wank breaks out in full force. Spelling is analysed. Intelligence is insulted. Genitals are brought into the picture. The name of Abe Lincoln is invoked.

God, I love politics.

4:18pm: HP: Ron/Hermione canon debate
Angua9 posts a long, somewhat smug essay about how "RON/HERMIONE IS SO CANON SO THERE!!!!!" She gets mostly positive responses until the link is passed around and the Harry/Hermione shippers get wind. (I have to admit that I did comment a few times myself, but I'm not a shipper, and I was kind of wanting to debate literary theory, and no one would talk to me. :/ I don't think my mere presence on the thread indicates that it should be an i_wank.)
