7:37am: New member post and PGSM wank all around.

I've wanked, I've laughed, and now I'm here to make my first post. What fun. Hope you guys don't mind me joining the pointing and laughing.

Take a drink, people. This one is another post about gay/lesbian wank.

Now, the original post was deleted, but I have a link to a comment that explained it. This is a small wank so far but I thought it was worth sharing.

All was good as the Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon fandom was winding down after the season was over, and the fans are excited to see a Special Act in the works!

[info]tenchichan posts a poll asking for members' sexuality and which actor in PGSM they'd turn straight/gay/lesbian for, which the mod finds awfully offensive and non-child-friendly. The mod deletes it, and posts a genereal reminder about general on-topicness and so on, with the "don't allow comments" option turned out.

At this point [info]jaymzalexander posts asking why the OP was offensive at all, while admitting it was rather off-topic too. People pick sides, and a mini-war ensues. The moderator still does not reply.

It's a small community and a small wank, but it has lovely potential. If this were, say, the FMA fandom, or the Naruto fandom, we'd be neck deep in posts about it.

That's all, I think.

Update!

Thanks to [info]werlady,

One of the mods has resonded, deleted the complaining post, still not allowing comments. Another post was made, complaining about censorship in the community, with something comparing it to draconian disappearances in Argentina, and [info]heartshocking has made a new community, [info]everything_pgsm. The OP [info]tenchichan had originally created a new community, but deleted it, and then REMADE a community called [info]pgsm_fans, because the mods had, apparently, gotten mad at the last one (did anyone witness this? I can't tell what's going on).

We at [info]fandom_wank would like to know when the last on-topic post was.

7:50pm: The People Have Spoken. Those Patience-Trying, Filth-Slinging Whores.
Sorry if this has already been posted somewhere; I couldn't resist.

Courtesy of, oddly enough, my mother:

New York Times article on the Anne Rice-on-Amazon-Debacle, October 11th, 2004: "The People Have Spoken, And Rice Takes Offense", by Sarah Lyall.

Running out of things to iconate? Here, have a telling highlight!

In a telephone interview, Ms. Rice elaborated on the point [her refusal to submit to criticism, constructive or otherwise, from an editor].
"People who find fault and problems with my books tend to say, 'She needs an editor,'" Ms. Rice said. "When a person writes with such care and goes over and over a manuscript and wants every word to be perfect, it's very frustrating."
She added: "When you take home a CD of Pavarotti or Marilyn Horne, you don't want to hear another voice blended in. I feel the same way about Hemingway. If I read it, I don't want to read a new edited version."

And of course everyone's favourite--sing along if you know the words!--

She posted a blistering, 1,200-word defense of her book on the site, laying in to those critics who, she said, were "interrogating this text from the wrong perspective."

I feel sorta warm and fuzzy. Now the whole world can point and laugh like True For-Real Fandom Wankas!

9:02pm: Icon_tutorial wank!

Now. we have the community [info]icon_tutorial. It is a happy little shiny world where benelovent icon-makers post their gems of wisdom on how to make shiny things, and the less gifted love them for it, and it's all good.

But, every so often, the wank arrives with a vengeance. [info]chelkitty posts a tutorial and [info]sadako_chan takes offense. She is apparently the paragon of originality.

And the wank goes on. And on.

Still in progress, as well.
