1:30am: Ickle bite-sized HP wank. Where would we be without it?
Boy, I could post a long, long history of the wankiness of the Astronomy Tower RPG (which would include wanking myself), but I just can't bring myself to do it. To make a long, long story semi-short, three LJ friends decided to create a slashy HP RPG, and at its height, Snape was married to Lupin. Bottom line: It was pretty much an excercise in creative masturbation for a handful of (mostly) girls who could, at the time, find nothing better to do (but aren't most RPG like that?).

Anyway, as time flew by, the founding members of the RPG went on to other things; some who didn't have anything else to occupy their times dwelled on the RPG, and wanted to take up the modship from the lone founding member who had any attachment to the RPG (since she was the one who created all of the pretty backgrounds for every player's journal), who'd been sitting on the idea of moving it from the G-dawfully slow Blurty to GreatestJournal. Two LJ members, atalantapendrag and rissyau pestered said member about when the RPG was going to be started again, until Snape/atalantapendrag sought fit to usurp the modship from the owner/founder, maruchina. Things got ugly for a while a few months ago with accusations of "Atan" being a backstabber, but eventually Atan, Rissyau, and Maruchina worked a few things out (not exactly smoothly, but enough to somehow/somewhere resurrect AT.

Well. I suppose good things don't last forever, as now Atan made a mess of AT and then kicked Rissy out. Rissy then defriends Atan on LJ, and Atan gets indignant about it. The backstabbing bitch! accusations fly again, and we have a 32-year-old woman who can't spell bitching about a 20-year-old college student who can't spell (though she seems to do just fine in the anon comment). We even have the surely you have something better to do? condescension, as well as the gratuitous craptastic poetry trolling that dumbs down each and every one of its readers.

Me? My only guilt in this is having RPGed in AT with Atan once, and having to make up for her lackluster Snape (Wanky, yes! But true.) while she sat there not knowing what to say.

Oh, HP fandom. How you never disappoint, even in the mini-wanks.

10:44am: You are interrogating the text from the wrong perspective!
Since fanficrantsis having a spate of snitty commentary from people who want to wank, those that want to whine about the pitfalls of OOC fanfiction are finding new places to stick their rants. One of them being scans_daily, which is basically a place to post comic scans and laugh at the crack, bad touching and some such. Enter mightygodking whose header post writes "Thoughts on Bat-slash, from a purist." Can you hear the warning signs go off yet? Basically it's a long justification of how OOC Batman slash would be with the final paragraph reading: "I say this not to be a spoilsport, because I understand fully that posting scans where comic artists have perhaps somewhat inappropriately placed Bruce's hand and suchlike is fun, and well and good to that (even if it is sorta the grownup equivalent of asking a girl in the schoolyard to look down her shirt and spell "attic"). I say this merely to preface three scans from the end of Gotham Knights #17, which really rocked me when I read them, and I would hope that others would approach this scene with the same sense of gravitas that I felt compelled to have when reading it - both because I understand quite fully that the scene COULD be re-interpreted from a slash viewpoint, and because I think the quality of the writing here - the adroitness with which Devin Grayson illustrates Bruce's need to both express how important Dick is to him and how scared Bruce is of doing that - deserves a straight (no pun intended) read." Then comes the scan. Included are arguments on the definition of slash, arguments on how much back story can be given to be in character and lots of people on both sides of the fence. Of course the beauty of scans_daily is the first comment after this was: "Well, it's not a marriage license, but... Aw. Bat love."

11:44pm: Another BNF Wank...
I suppose this would qualify as a Fannish absurdity.
Anyone ever heard of Nuregwen of LOTR Fandom? Well it appears she has had enough of being a BNF. She is attempting to be as bitchy as possible so people will unfriend her.
First she deleted her journal in attempt to get people to unfriend her. Calling everyone on her f'list f*ckers and the like. Her reasoning is clearly cracked as she states she doesn't want people to friend her, yet she won't quit doing huge the LOTR picspams that attracts the LOTR minions. Worse yet is everyone kissing her ass telling her how right she is and how people should unfriend her.
Someone suggest she makes another LJ for her private use...but hell that is far to logical. And she is way to lazy for that. But wait now she decides she won't complain anymore.
Right well I could go on and on...
