1:20pm: I've got a hacked copy of JKR's original draft on my hard drive! Really!
I'm sure it won't surprise anyone to hear that the Who Will Fall In Love With Whom? thread on the Mugglenet forums is an ongoing wankfest. Unfortunately, it's usually very long and boring shipper wank. Today, however, non-shipper insanity entered the Love Thread!

It starts on Page Thirty down on Post 1728, if you want to follow it along yourself. But, since it's a fast moving thread with plenty of other posts, c&ps of the individual highlights are below.

Newbie named Lelila interrupts the shipping prognostications to say: Did anyone read the original draft of OotP? Where Lily is the Heir of Slytherin and Voldemort is Harry's Grandfather? And Colin Creevey dies instead of Sirius? The characters certainly moved in a way that no one expected. I guess she wasn't happy with it and edited a whole lot. Makes you wonder what her initial intentions are vs. what the final outcome is.

(this also happens to be my first post, but I've enjoyed the wanks here for a while)

There are rumors that six apart is going to buy livejournal.

This apparantly has some live journal users worried enough to start questioning this on the livejournal status boards.

The board owners delete the initial posts.

soleta asks why she can't ask questions.

njyoder calls someone a 'Commie troll'. 2am_waffles points out that the issue is actually capitalism, and they're a lot more in favor of freedom of speech than any stinkin' communists.

njyoder then starts questioning why others on the thread are thanking Brad for actually 'doing his job' to keep LJ working.

terestai criticises the general 'culture of being expected to be waited on hand and foot . . .

And it deteriorates from there - only 45 responses at this point, but a lot more than I've ever seen on an LJ status post before

6:22pm: Crispin Freeman is not an ass--he KICKS it!
I was going through the IMDB site because I wanted some info on a VA known as Crispin Freeman. He's the one who voiced the infamous Albel Nox from Star Ocean 3 and the nutjob Albedo in Xenosaga. According to his bio, he's a "lovely, humble person".


Seems that someone doesn't agree!

Basically, according to "Holidame", Crispin is an ass and she wanted to SPIT on him! GAH! She felt that way because Crispin allegedly talked shit about one of her favorite voice actors and he never showed up to a banquet when her friend paid SO MUCH $$$$$$$$ to sit by him. Oh, and he didn't show up for a panel either.

Obviously, people don't agree and try to explain to her the possible reasons why he didn't show up. She doesn't seem to consider that.

This wank actually started in 2003 and went on until 2004. What makes this great is that Crispin Freeman himself shows up and well, sets the record straight.

6:39pm: Wank Expansion
When we last left the Buffy/Angel fandom, they were having fun with an anonymous lust meme, and Jennyo was asking “Why?” Things have kinda escalated since then. Jennyo posted a rant which I don’t know how to summarize, because it’s all over the place. The two main points: queer play (hugging, smooching, boob-squeezing, ectra) in virtual space can be bad, since it turns queerness into a spectacle and makes it an Other, something done to be cool; also, fandom has a feminism problem, especially seen in a “certain set of boyslashers,” who put out work with “clearly anti-woman attitudes.”

Swmbo responds, pissed that someone’s questioning the way she and her friends express themselves.

Jane Davitt also takes offence, defending her use of *hugs*, and sniping about the “appallingly written screeds” these “people who pride themselves, for no adequare reason that I can see, on being intellectuals” are coming up with.

In the meantime, Jennyo grumbles about the “anti-intellectual disingeunity of fandom,” and other people grumble that she’s usurping the term intellectual.

Much fun is had in all the comments. If by “fun” you mean snippy insults, “word”-ing of snippy insults, meta on top of meta, mentions of fandom_wank, and a lot of poor-us-vs-mean-them whining. But this is fandom_wank, so you probably do.

11:58pm: My first Wank....A Wicked one
The Wicked community is always rife with drama. We've been there before, with mod drama, teenybopper drama, "I'm a better fan than you" drama.....the works.

Now, it seems the community has been HACKED!. The old, inactive mod has inexplicably taken mod duties away from the active mods. edgeof7teen, the most vocal mod, has posted that the community will now go down in flames. A new community is started, but some don't feel welcome there. Spam begins to infiltrate the community and no one is happy. Wank ensues in most of the posts on the front page!, including the flashing headline about the demise. There are arguments about why people should have to move over to the new community, wicked_elite.
