12:38am: Lost Wank
The Lost_TV comm has a tendency to be flooded with "OMG CHARLIE WAS SO HOT!!!!11!!!" posts after an episode airs, ignoring the "Day Of" post that is made for such insightful comments. There's also a problem with people on the East Coast making spoilerific posts after seeing an episode and spoiling it for people on the West Coast.

So a new policy is made: Wednesday night posts will be moderated, and meaningless posts or spoiler posts that aren't clearly marked and cut will not be allowed through. A couple of new moderators are added to help handle this.

One of the old mods quits, apparently in protest. She hints about making a new community. Another of the mods says the comm has become nazi-esque and then posts a quitting message. Peiyu labels this as silly and nazis are again invoked.

I just love it when disagreements about managing a community are tossed up for everyone to see.

10:54am: FMA Wank! Again.
This time over fanlistings.

Over at the TAFL boards there's some hullabaloo over the matter of Roy Mustang's fanlisting, which apparently has not been updated since August. The rule is that a fanlisting must be updated every two months, but the owner apparently circumvented this issue by updating the main page without touching the fanlist itself.

Needless to say, this was not exactly met with cheers, especially from Estefania (haibara-kun), who is apparently a massive Roy fan and would like the opportunity to run the fanlisting herself. Most people agree that it's pretty dirty to be managing a fanlisting in this manner.

Except Mana, who thinks they should just leave the owner alone and compares the other members of the board to vultures. (previously, Mana has earned fame with her dislike of Firefox and more recently, she weighed in on whether people should have to update)

Several members of the board once again disagree with Mana's assessment of the situation, and finally one of the board moderators gives Mana a nice dose of smackdown, and Mella tries to inject some sense into the situation.

6:42pm: Small yet Perfectly Formed

However, I felt that there was a certain something about the situation that made this small, yet plucky wank deserving of a shot at the big time on fandom_wank.

On Bad Rpers Suck brown__mouse posts about an Harry Potter RPG she's in where Remus Lupin jerked off Sirius Black in class and lost the house 400 points. silver_rook posts that she disapproves of all slash in rpgs and fanfiction unless it is specifically said that the character is gay.

Rann appears and they argue. silver_rook even throws in a stab at the old 'you're raping the writer's vision'.

You see? It's like bonsai wank? So small, yet it involves Harry Potter, slash, artistic integrity and there is even a little scuffle over proper spelling. Not only that but it's a wank about....wanking.

(also, I'm rather disturbed to find myself, sort of, agreeing with Rann here. I may need to stop drinking so much coffee.)

Someone posts to the LJ community vidding about the lack of comments on some vids.

I think they need some cheese with their whine. Small, but amusing and may grow.
