9:42am: The wank that just keeps on wanking
Everyone remember this fanficrants wank? It ain't over yet.

Most of you in the Suikoden fandom have to be aware by now of the metawank going on between a handful of fanfiction authors (mostly K'Arthur and Straya, since they left some reviews she didn't like a year ago) and an author who goes by the name of Iztayul Tepes on ff.net. She has tried repeatedly to TOS the Livejournal community Suikosnark for "copyright infringement" because they're quoting parts of her fanfiction in their reports. Though really, my guess is because she thinks they're just like those mean girls in high school.**

She claims that the authors in question are nothing more than dirty, dirty Suethors. In fact, she leaves reports on [info]marysues and trolls [info]fanficrants under at least two different account names in order to get her point across. Or something.

Anyway, she's now siccing the intarweb lawyers on one of the writers, K'Arthur.

The wanky part? The lawyers are sockpuppets.

More insanity idiocy in the email below.

I could not make this shit up if I tried. Enjoy.

11:27am: tiny wank in the big ocean

Oceans 11/12 is a small fandom, and so small wank. Stop spamming my friends list! I just can't take it anymore!

And also, only my ship makes sense, yours doesn't, and you're ageist because Clooney is the hawt. (Complete with a fake cut back to the poster's personal journal for commenting)

Really, I'm laying out this wank like a funnel spider, hoping to trip some more fen into the fandom. Eleven handsome men. *tempts*

1:21pm: JKR vs. the US Army. Who has the fans?
Over on the Leaky Cauldron, it's posted that JKR's lawyers are looking at the US military's parody of HP characters in a cartoon promoting proper equipment maintenance. The US Army is quoted as saying, "Each copy of our magazine is reviewed by our legal office. After reviewing this copy they judged that we were doing nothing wrong and that these characters were in parity use."

Much wankage follows. Most engaging in a massive slugfest over JKR and the War in Iraq. (Btw, read from the bottom of the page up to get the comments in order) There are so many beautiful quotes in there that it kills me to choose a couple for this summary, but I'll go with these two representative ones.

If my favourite books are used in a comic to cheer up the soldiers in Iraq, then yes, I do have a problem with that. If Jo or her lawyers are doing something to prevent this, I´m al for it.

First there are a stupid kids reading this site how know nothing about war and death and what it is not to be free. For 40 million people that’s what they now have because of USA, the UK, and other nations. In addition, I think that this falls under the Fair Use Rule of the United States Copyright Act of 1976. To say nothing of the fact that you can't sue the government unless it give you permission first. JKR would be wise not to get political otherwise people will stop reading her books because of her views and that would be to bad.

3:30pm: Xenosaga Episode II: Der Wille Zur Wank
First wank. Whoohoo!

Things start out rather normally on this RPGamer thread. Looks like Soraya Saga, the scenario writer for both Xenogears and Xenosaga: Episode I, left the Xenosaga team shortly after finishing her work on Xenosaga: Episode II. She doesn't give many reasons, and people chat about what might happen with the series now.

Then everyone turns to discussions of nom de plumes and gender equality.

Some wank occurs. )

Things go back on the topic of equality, with just a little wank.

Then, things get ugly. )

A rather bizarre and shortish wank, but wank indeed.
