Not as sticky as the last one (yet) but we'll see where it goes. Right now it's only a little circle jerk. Here we go.

In the thread about her self published book, Adele defends her vanity press decision by saying, "For the past few years people have been asking for me to get it in print so they could read it easier, as not many people like to read it online."

Someone calling themselves Charity shows up and calls her on it, saying that people have been asking Adele for years if they could jsut print the damned thing themselves, and she keeps shooting them down. She says she doesn't care what Adele does with her money or anyone else's, but Adele's argument doesn't make sense. She also says she's from (GASP!) F_W. One of our own, and we don't know you? Charity, step up.

"Skip" tries to snark that Charity's user name isn't very accurate. Boring.

Spools points out that Charity is not "rabid" and therefore should not be hated.

Adele replies. Printing paper, ink, and the cost of electricity to run a printer is too expensive for people, so instead they can buy the book. Also, Adele seems to think that of other people printed out her book, she would lose her copyright. But if she herself has it printed, her copyright stands. Or, in her words, When something is an online story anybody can cut/paste and whalah they have written a novel. Uhh, yes. Whalah.

Charity laughs.

Juliet defends Adele: "OMG HUR WORK IS SO COOL SHE RAWKS" No, honestly. Those are her actual "words." Even hilarious-er, she points out that, hey, lots of books don't have a decent plot, what's the problem? Quiet possibly the bestest defense of Adele's work yet. ;)


Surprizingly (only without the actual surprize,) the thread is locked.

Charity, however, won't take no for an answer. F_W gets another dishonorable mention.

4:34pm: Wank in marysues.
No, I'm not sure why they are wanking. Or even, if truth be told, what the topic of the wank is. But they sure are going at it over at the marysues community. It begins when Jack makes a post on e e cummings 'Nobody'. I'm not sure if he's reporting a 'sue or posting a literary analysis in some kind of attempted to teach the members of the community a lesson. Erm...at least that's the vibe I got when I read through it. No, it doesn't particularly make a lot of sense to me, either.

Anyway, animaniacsgirl and asceticism start going at it here. And here. I'm not exactly sure what they are disagreeing about, but I do know that both are extrodinarily bitchy doing so.

The other members of the community are as clueless as I am, but we get an honorable mention. As does Anne Rice.

9:28pm: Smallville wank
It's small (ha) but the sheer wtfness merits a post, I think.

Apparently there was some Valentine's Day thing organised by svmadelyn where people wrote nice things about their friends and then svmadelyn compiled it all.

But all is not well in Smallvilleville! Someone got upset that they weren't mentioned and defriended svmadelyn! That's right, they defriended the person who organised the meme. Not her friends who didn't mention her. That would have made sense. (Well, what would have made sense was to realise that it's a stupid LJ meme and doesn't merit getting upset or defriending, but this is fandom, after all.)

Most people console svmadelyn, but serafina20 takes it upon herself to tell svmadelyn how much she sucks for posting about being defriended.
