So over in the Buffy/Angel fandom, there are a bunch of people who really, really don’t like each other, and yet cannot seem to stop reading each other’s entries, and taking everything they find therein as personal attacks.

On Monday, Jennyo posted a discussion thread on race and fanfic. It’s not really wanky, though some people later take offence at her over generalizing.

Some other people LJ on the subject, some thoughtfully, some defensively. But things don’t really heat up until JaneDavitt posts.

Glossing gets upset when, as part of the larger post on race and fandom, Jane highlights the fact that Gloss complained that a one-off character with three lines of dialogue doesn’t get any fandom love, apparently because he’s coded as “really gay,” and fandom is misogynistic… wait, I think I crossed my wank streams there.

Glossing responds. No commenting allowed!

Jennyo posts. No commenting allowed! She also uses the word “evil” twice.

Ashlyn26 decides to jump in. No commenting allowed! But only because they started it.

Not everyone on Journalfen has the system account friended, and this decision comes down from the Journalfen admins themselves.

Frienditto will be blocked from working with Journalfen, and they ask that people do not link to Frienditto content from Journalfen.

It all starts in bimbo_duff over at LJ, an Anti Duff's sisters community. That's already wanky enough me thinks, but then silent_ki11er decides to post a photo of Big Bird and of Hailie Duff, telling to compare.

There are bashing comments of course, but nothing big until visual_kei8 says they're nothing alike. OP disagrees, so visual_kei8 starts insulting.

It's still rather small, but it has the highlights of silent_ki11er calling visual_kei8 a twat.

Ah, bashing communities. You never fail to amuse me.

6:17pm: I imagine at least some of you remember past wanks involving Usagi Kou, a rather prominent Sailor Moon cosplayer who seems to attract wank like flies.

Someone pretends to be her over on the cosplay community, and continues here.

The real one hasn't come along yet, but if she does so before the posts are deleted, I imagine we're in for a show.
