Finally, I have a reason to use this icon.

Yeah, I know finding wank on IMDb is like shooting fish in a barrell.

Over at IMDb on the Eric Bana boards there's a thread about his wife of eight years and pretty much constant companion, Rebecca. As is normal operating procedure over there, wank ensues. I knew this would happen eventually with him, I just knew it.

The OP states: "It used to annoy the bloody hell out of me when my girl would drool over this guy, but then I saw is wife and I thought "Why? You could have anyone you want. Why this tattered thing?" Looks aren't it all, I know, but I don't get this union."

Respones range from "Rebecca Gleeson is a bit haggy. I don't get it either, but maybe she is really nice," to stating that she should gain weight and/or find a fashion coordinator to help her find clothes to flatter her figure and age, and quite a few people calling other people out for slagging on the man's wife and the mother of his kids that he "clearly adores." All the while stating "I'm sure she's a very nice person."

While I've not participated, I'll just point at my icon again. And fangirl.

My personal favorite is when someone, in the midst of discussion about how she should gain about 100 pounds, points out "In the Black Hawk Down premiere pics, she looked dare I say, pretty good. Why? Because she had more meat on her bones." Yeah, she was pregnant, you halfwit. [/wanking]

5:10pm: Attack of the Anzu-Bashing Serial Adders!
Would have been posted sooner, but was only recently called to my attention.

Somebody professing to hate Mazaki Anzu from Yu-Gi-Oh! makes a journal called anzu_is_a_ho and proceeds to add everyone from the pro_anzu fans comm to her (I'm thinking it's got to be a her, at least) flist.

She has this to say in her first post:

( I hate Anzu. )

The people who have been added to her flist respond. Some call troll and others argue with her about Anzu (at which point the troll tells them to go fuck themselves). Still more of them ask to be removed from her flist.

There was another post in which the troll made fun of them for "getting worked up" but apparently it's been deleted.

9:48pm: Harry Potter: Only Begun. The Shipping Wars Have.
Two days till canon. Tempers are running high. Spoilers everywhere. The masses of shippers lurch towards each other, broken beer bottles in hand.

I'll lay my cards on the table. I'm an R/Hr shipper. I usually try to be a nice and fair shipper, but my evil side took over, and I really am enjoying the whole war. I feel somewhat ashamed of myself. I'll note, though, that I'm not part of it.

A fandomer by the name of Ginny Weasley posts one of the most caustic shipping essays I've ever seen Symbolic Flight. It's brutal. It's nasty. It's bitchy. Read at your own peril. Its declared intent? This is an essay that has been written in response to any H/Hr shipper out there who has felt the need to slander J.K. Rowling after she has given quotes that discredit any remote chance that H/Hr stood in canon.

The comments explode. Blood everywhere.
