The Beatles slashers are generally nice and filled with hippy squee. But lately, the most popular pairing has become either more popular or just a wee more in with the squee.

And that's OPPRESSION.

Very small, generally diffused by saner fans all-around niceness, but it has surprise visits from both "omg all J/P sux0rz" and "you oppress my OTP by not endorsing it!"

I'm tempted to give them a one-way ticket to fanficrants.

6:55pm: We need more old stuff in the newsletter
the_cortex is a new fandom newsletter for Firefly fans.

The editors ask for feedback, and _touched is happy to help by asking for more Wash/Kaylee links, such as links to old fics if there aren't any new ones to link to.

Various people attempt to explain the basic concept of a newsletter (linking to news, just in case you weren't sure), and the editors profess their willingness to include links to anything new about Wash/Kaylee, but there's just not much new being posted at the moment.

_touched responds: "This hardly seems fair or unbias to me, honestly. I understand the need for establishing the rules and believe it or not I respect that, I just think it's sad that some of the characters and pairings are going to go overlooked just becuase they haven't been written within the past few days or whatever is deemed new."

The wankiness lies mostly in how long it takes to explain the basic concept of the newsletter so that _touched can understand it, and in her odd retractions. "You're not posting any Wash/Kaylee." "You're wrong, we are posting what we can find, eg x, y and z." "Well, I didn't say you weren't posting ANY." "Yes you did." "Oh, nitpick if you must."

It's all fairly mild-mannered, but I found it amusing enough.

ETA: Late-breaking wank. blaar_rosir faces off against _touched, _touched threatens to bring the mods down on blaar_rosir, neither one will back off an inch, and duckytears puts on her mod hat to send them both to their rooms.

Note: I replied to the OP's post but I didn't get involved with the following wank so I didn't feel like posting in i_wank. Feel free to correct me.

It seems Rip van Winkle attracts all the wank lately in the Hellsing fandom. First was that funny incident of people wangsting and leaving the fandom over the color of her shirt in the New brand OVA series and now her nature is discussed once more. Oh yeah, and her eyes, despite having blue eyes in the colored pages of the Manga. How could I forget that?
