8:39am: A Small Odd Sequel to that Last Harmonian Wank
darynthe decides to show Fandom Wank who rules on the lj comm. hmsgetalife. Please, please stop it. She shows her complete unawareness of FW history by saying that 900 comments on the last Harmonian thread must be a record. Someone needs to tell her about Crystalwank.

Then she pastes in lyrics to a song called 'Get a Life' for the benefit of FW members.

All sorts of hilarity in the comments including "We are trying to get you to stop the hatred and bad natured stupidity of sites such as FW.", a parable about Buddhist monks, and an alleged quote from the late John Paul II: "Even stupidity is a gift of God, but you should know how to use it." which I judge to be about as authentic as Karl Marx yelling "CAPITALISM ROCKS!"

11:31am: Alan Rickman, Will You Hump Me?
So alanrickman over on LJ is a comm for fans of Alan Rickman. Like any celebrity community, the posts are everywhere between interesting info, obscure screencaps, and spelling-optional gushy posts that veer on tasteless.

Yesterday, girl_wonder (a troll with sockpuppets if I ever saw one) posts four pictures with lewd captions that really have nothing to do with Alan Rickman. Warning: eye burnination from horrible Photoshop action or perhaps from the cutter picture.

Replies vary from the WTF to ima cutter this offends me, plus the obligatory cries for LJ-cut. Calls for mod are made.

The mod, holycricket, in a stupendous failure of moderation, posts this:

People are understandably upset about this unmodly behaviour. The mod replies with some true gems with enough caps lock to offset the inconsistent capitalisation in her original post. Ex:

At least girl_wonder wasn't thinking with her crotch like a lot of other people in this community.
STOP SAYING ARSE YOU C*NNNNNTS! YOU'RE NOT NEARLY COOL ENOUGH TO PULL IT OFF. (censorship mine)

If you care more about a goddamn fan community than the real world, do you really think you matter?

Anyway, in response to all this, mugglegirl0908 creates a new AR comm with moderated membership, ar_fans, and pimps it in the post. Over. And over. And over.

Star Wars: Insider, your typical fan newsletter, releases an issue that provides an estimate of the size of the clone armies during the Clone Wars. Because some SW fans find this number a bit ridiculous when compared to the vastness of SW galactic geography, the fans flip their shit.

Highlights include:

-Thrawn McEwok and PainRack arguing canon interpretation.
-Charlemagne19's "Who gives a shit?" monologue, complete with a melodramatic scolding on the terminology being thrown about, followed by Ive_Got_Two_Legs's equally dramatic response.
-Somebody pulling the "length of membership" card.
-Kudzu intervening arbitrarily to bitch about McEwok's posting style.
-And we even have some, "HAHA, if you're so smart, why is my OT thread unanswered" bitchfights.


I guess Lucas wasn't joking when he said these films were for kids. *rimshot*
