5:12pm: Cameron Hate is sooo 2004-2005 season.
On house_md, user finding_jay shares that her mother is much cooler than she previously thought, because while watching her first episode of House, Moms said Dr. Cameron was a slut.

Some people think it's hilarious. Other, more jaded house_md frequenters begin the countdown for when the Cameron fans will start wanking.

The Cameron fans do indeed arrive in droves.

Naturally all discussions of FOX TV characters are ripe for extremely serious feminist/ linguistic analyses, bearing fruit with such insights as:

"Today's slut may not be your dad's slut!"

In a similar vein, finding_jay, whose profile clearly lies reads: "I am above all a lady", says I'm assuming by way of apology: "My mom is currently going through a slut phase."

My personal favorite comment: I think 'slut' is a little excessive. And rude. YOU probably wouldn't appreciate it if I called one of your favorite characters a 'whore.' (So am I the only one whose favorite characters are ALL slutty whores then???)

UPDATE #1: Someone who used to be a mod asks: Can't we debate ANYTHING without wanking the hell out of it? Psh. N00b.

UPDATE #2: And the comm collectively replies: No.

Well. The illusion that this show appeals only to smug, tactless misanthropes like me has been forever shattered, that's for damn sure. :(

7:59pm: Geek Pissing Contest, Variation 3.14
Over at scans_daily, wal_lace makes a post in which Cyclops is ultra-awesome. As expected, people notice Scott's tighty-whities, Sabretooth's spelling skillz, and the fact that Professor X is randomly riding a Sentinel.

And, as could also be expected, an argument breaks out over who would beat who. It starts going downhill from there. In the meantime we get "Cyclops is more badass than Superman AND Batman" wank, "you won't argue with me anymore=I win!" wank, and of course, intentional misspellings wank.

All classic geekboy stuff, and mostly confined to wal_lace and lovesmasher. (For a special bonus prize, lovesmasher's icon causes epileptic seizures in 1 out of 5 lab rats.)
