4:43am: And he is only a month old.
Back story: K-Fed knocked up Britney Spears. Since he already sold pictures of the engagement, wedding, and two prior children, everyone assumed little SPF's appearance on the cover of People is just a matter of time. Someone sent Matt, the webmaster of tangiblebrit.com, thumbnails of pictures, claiming People are going to publish it next week. And then:

PRIVACY CRAVER: Britney Spears changed her mind about letting the world see her baby. The pop tart posed for studio shots with her new tot, Sean Preston Spears Federline, and hubby Kevin Federline last week in L.A. The pictures by Mark Liddel were supposed to go to People magazine for millions — but the next day, Spears "started freaking out," our insider said. "She started crying that she was selling out her baby and couldn't give up the pictures." A People rep said, "We have not purchased nor paid for any photos of Britney this week."

blah blah legal stuff )

And it goes on: This pic stands for FREEDOM! ) Matt over at TangibleBrit is gonna be on Inside Edition. He's gonna tell his story.</i>

Oooh.

BritneySpears.org's webmaster said: )

OMG Scandal )

FYI, I've seen the pictures and they're just a collage of six 100x75 pictures. Nothing to get all worked up about. But the best part, everyone has an opinion!

and they all sound the same )

7:02pm: More R.A. Salvatore wank
No, I'm not involved. :p And this one's growing an erection into a respectable size.

In this topic, someone asks a simple question about Drizzt's scimitar. BEAST answers, citing the book and page number. Someone else jumps on him for being rude and "sinical" (sic). Jay Tomio and axehandle basically reply saying that "You pretty much have to tip toe around to avoid hurting people's overly sensitive feelings."

Enters Laethyn, the admin, who goes to basically say that if you aren't going to behave, shut the fuck up and go away.

Things kinda escalated from there. Pretty much bounces back and forth between "we can critique Salvatore's work all we like; no rule says we can't" and "you do nothing but bash his work, losers!" and "this ain't bashing, this is concrit!" TwoThreeZero invokes "freedom of speech, bitches!" in a somewhat nonsensical way:

Laethyn: Like it or leave it.
TwoThreeZero: I wonder what response I'd get from you people if I were to say that to all the anti-america protesters... Methinks something along the lines of "freedom of speech" or whatnot.

SilentOverlord laments the good old days (where there was no fighting, and yea verily, all had hawt buttsecks with another), and essentially cries out, "Please, everybody, can't we all just turn this into a massive man-orgy, because that'd be so much more interesting get along?"

Darius chimes in, in an all-out ad hominem attack: Sure, Jay Tomio is not his posts but based on his post I can say that I DON’T LIKE HIM, I think he’s inconsiderate, arrogant and completely full of himself.

The thread then gets locked. Thankfully, the forum mods there tend to lock rather than bahleet. :D

But! The saga -- okay, fine, novelette -- does not end here. Jay Tomio takes it up in another thread, where he complains that he is being personally attacked by Laethyn, whom he affectionately nicknames "mod-troll." (I find this thread in particular a bit... out of nowhere, but then, I haven't paid much attention to the Laethyn/Jay Tomio, aka the Fantasy Guru OTP interaction.)
10:32pm: Copyright issues
Announcement

For those of you who don't have accounts or have the System journal friended, the System has asked that we direct you an Important Announcement about Copyright in which there is Much Snarkiness and Piglet Gets Roasted. For those Wankers amongst you who Live Outside 100 Wanker Wood, please do not disturb the Blessed Tranquility of Our Pastoral Home.

Comments will be left on here if you wish to discuss the issue. Robin has asked, however, that we emphasize that there will be no direct quotes from the complainant mentioned until such time as the matter is completely resolved. So don't bother asking.
10:48pm: Fansubbing vs. Official Subbing, Where Does it End?!
Open a debate of Fan subs vs. Offcial Subs on any public forum and you're guarnteed wank. However things really don't start to heat up until page two.

Someone just has to bring up ambigious legal staus of fansubbing, and starts the wank.

You're an ungrateful bastard for not paying for anime!, posted by the OP, who at first was tolerant of fansubbing. Wank changes people fast.

It appears fansubbing's legality is open to interpetation.

"End of argument" if only.

Its Illegal!, no its not, and in fact they are often of good quality.

On page four we are subjected to a rousing legal debate where our wankers clearly use all of their education to argue whether or not its legal to translate a Japanese cartoon for hobby reasons. I love the internet.

Oh no! I'm being threatened!

Anime is NOT a fad!, wank spawns more wank.

Jack Thompson comparsion is called up. That guy needs his own law, he's getting as popular as Hitler in arguments nowadays.

Put a spork in me, I'm done!
