12:15pm: Once again, a troll gets the wank started, whether it is actually a troll or not.

A concerned parent posts what some called a very polite post:
When I read what you all wrote I was horrified at what how you all were treating her. You not only attacked the fic you personnally attacked her as well. Say what you want about the story but please do not personally attack the writer especially one so young.

Some go through the explanation of "Most GAFFers don't post links when reviewing. Those are the trolls who do that, trying to stir up trouble. We don't have control over them."
Others called it a troll. Then of course, we get the posts of don't feed the troll.

Then of course, the gaffers attack each other. Hilo Hello posts "I apologise profusely, on account of everyone, that your daughter had to see this."
Which sets off:
Cyberwulf:"Hilo Hello, don't ever apologise on my behalf, or presume to speak for me, again. GAFFers do not possess a single giant hive mind."
surprise surprise, Heywood:"Fuck you, tool. No one ever gave you permission to speak for all of us. Don't ever claim to speak for me or on my behalf. I am perfectly capable and willing to voice my own opinion, and I'd say that a good number of us here have one differing from yours. Don't involve the rest of us because you can't tell the difference, and don't put words in our mouths while you're at it." I assume "tool" is a typo for "too"

There is the usual "reasons" for it being a troll, why it couldn't be (Polite!) I'm reporting this to the site guru!!!!

ETA: Got rid of the confusing underlining, sorry.
Current Mood: Mildly Amused
7:15pm: ohnotheydidnt madness
Previously on [info]clairvoyantwank... [info]ohnotheydidnt was deleted for a while today.

Now it's not, and they're wanking away. Stalin is always a good starting point for sanity, yes?

It appears that everything is being approved, and/or the comm is off moderated posting.

Another delightfully wanky thread that starts off as suggestions for ONTD alternatives, and then becomes porn: NOT SAFE FOR WORK, NOT SUITABLE FOR CLICKING. Deleted!
9:29pm: "OMG YOU MEEANIES!" When Pros Turn Wanky
Found this on [info]fanthropology.

RoC gave away excerpts from Touched By Venom, by Jeanine Cross at this year's World Fantasy Conference WFC is primarily a conference for professional fantasy writers and editors. Writers, editors and reviews read it,find it hideous, and spawn impromptu readings a la Eye of Argon for the rest of the convention. Cheryl Morgan mentions this in her blog, and Ballantine/DelRay's Assistant Publicity Director Colleen Lindsay responds. She says there's no mention of "venom cock" in the book, and that WFC is just a little con full of nobodies.

A reviewer, John Joseph Adams, proves Colleen wrong. Meanwhile, other people point out WFC had 900 people, and is mostly a professional conference.

Colleen's response? Anything under 10,000 is a little con and a little con-goer sneered at my publisher, so we hates them, my precious, we hates them forever!

Moved from [info]otf_wank because it got the okay -- can't cross the streams!.
