7:18am: Dolls!
Volks makes expensive dolls. Volks just opened a stateside shop in southern California, and at the grand opening of this store, people who already owned a Volks doll were given the chance to buy super special limited release expensive dolls. Some people went and acted as mules for those who could not make it to the event, which is considered acceptable among collectors of these dolls. (Reselling at any sort of profit is not; people get very touchy about potential scalping). As near as I can tell, one person offered to be a mule, but then went back on the offer and got greedy with the other limited edition dolls on offer, and at least pretended she owned one of the Volks dolls to get into the event. People get upset.

They are very nice dolls, though.

Thanks to an anonymouse on wank_report, some short but nostalgic Spuffy wank!

[info]belle_icons is [info]lavellebelle's community for the pretty pretty icons she makes. One day, she makes a Multi-Fandom Icon Post with icons ranging from BtVS/AtS to Lost to Friends to text quotes. The pretty pretty icons go over well for exactly six comments, until [info]spikeylover takes offense to the fourth icon, which happens to be of Spike raping Buffy with the caption "OTP! (My ass!)"

Highlights! )

After the first debate dies down, more Spuffy lovers jump into the fray to defend their ship. You can usually tell which ones they are; they generally have names like [info]spikes_nibblet. None of these get the same level of response as [info]spikeylover's reply, though, just a token answer by [info]lavellebelle, who now sounds a little bored with it all. [info]xandersgirl18 disapproves of icon bashing because it violates first amendment rights. [info]adventurous feels like taunting Spuffy shippers for the fun of it. And many people, Spuffy peeps included, come out to say the icon is cool.

The thread stays entertaining, however, as new commenters mix their compliments with mockery of the objecting Spuffy shippers, such as:

OH MY GOD, HOW COULD YOU IMPLY THAT FAITH IS SOUL SEARCHING? YOU HYPOCRITE! TAKE YOUR FILTHY ICON LIES SOMEWHERE ELSE!

How dare you make an icon with Mal and the word grey? Why must you imply he has no color or depth! You hypocrite!

How DARE you make an icon portraying Cordelia in the sun with the text sunshine on it. How is that fair for vampires who never get to see the sun or feel the warmth of sunlight on their pale, toned bodies?
