: "Buttsex- Slightly Less Serious Business"
All I can think to say is that y'all are slackers for not posting this already.
So House is, well, not the straightest of shows. There have been slash fans since the first episode, and as the show has progressed, the slasher fanbase has grown.
The show is really quite encouraging to slashers-- in the first season, House asked his best friend (and the other half of the most common slash pairing) if they were breaking up. In the past two episodes, the gay references have arguably increased, culminating in the most recent episode, in which something spoilery happens. Slashers call, in true inspired-by-TWOP-fashion, shoutout.
Contessa_Maggie is none too thrilled about what she sees as writers pandering to a small subculture. Many agree but some get mighty pissed. Of course, there are cries of homophobia and people from both sides claim to be leaving the community.
And then, aleph_abyssal gets in on the action, starting off by very rationally explaining that sometimes, you aren't going to like what's on the show, but getting a little off-track in her argument that "hey, maybe one's gay!" People argue the gay character thing while my new favorite person makes an 80s music analogy and calls for peace in the fandom</a>. There's an argument about whether tv is ready for teh gay that becomes a Dr. Who discussion. Other claim that fandom animosity is because the slashers get annoying. People tell us their feelings about yaoi and those who think House and Wilson are perfectly straight want their writer gifts too, dammit!
Finally, there are pictures.
God I love this show. (also, goat_song, since I think you're on here, sorry there's been so much insanity in your comm.)
eta: ack, I'm so sorry I meant to watch closer to make sure I hadn't fucked up the html and then there it went :(
