It all begins innocently enough when nostalgia_lj posts a short Dr. Who fic based on a dream in her journal--originally friends-locked, but unlocked after recent events. All goes fairly well until spiralsheep comes along and is moved to give concrit, and thedorkygirl, one of the fic's original betas, is moved to respond.

As often happens when two editors meet upon the field of grammar at dawn, wanky hijinks ensue.

After a lengthy debate over such earth-shaking matters as proper capitalization, antecedents, and whether or not "air of determination" is properly a cliché, during which the two parties very politely and formally attempt to verbally stab each other ("Editors and academics don't generally base their linguistic theories on google hits!" "I'm certain that editors and academics do, however, try to back up their statements with some sort of fact/actual detail instead of making sweeping statements."), spiralsheep starts to sigh, and express how bored she is. A lot. Still, the average viewer looking upon this might get the impression these people weren't wild about each other, but everything was reasonably polite and nothing to call wank over, right?

Oh come on. You knew it couldn't possibly be that easy.
