10:45am: Death Threats and Internet Lawyers on the COS Forums
Came across this at The HMS STFU. A poster on the Mugglenet-affiliated COS forums claims to have received a death threat and is threatening to sue the other poster, Mugglenet, and "and the atmosphere that condones it."

( I am in the process of looking into legal action )

ETA. MRSTJ1 (whose user profile incidentally has her as fifty years old with four children) is discussing further details of her lawsuit against Emerson Spartz and Mugglenet. Details here. And it is pointed out that Emerson doesn't even own or mod the forums in question, so this woman is even further out to lunch than I thought.

ETA 2. The litigious one says hello.

1:57pm: Boondocks wank (2 in 1, I must say!)
Since the Martin Luther King Jr. Boondocks Special, the cartoon and comic got a lot of flack for its use of the N-word, especially from Rev. Al Sharpton. Boondocks Creator, Aaron McGruder replies via random other press releases, and of course, his comic, which is found on LJ as the Boondocks Comic Community.

Lots of people toss in their 2 cents on use of the N word. The comments have since been locked, though the comic itself (dated 2/6/06) can still be seen on the main journal page.

dyvinesweetness lays down the law on the N word and other forms of bad language.

"Please be advised that the word is NOT allowed here. NO variations of it (outside of "n-word"). I don’t care if you spell it with an A, 3 G's or 5 Q's. I don’t care that Aaron says it. I don’t care if your best best best good Black friend let’s you call him/her one. And I certainly don’t care that you feel as though you have created an air tight “theory” as to why saying the word will “end racism.” No, I cannot be swayed on this so please don’t try. And whining about me taking away your “voice/freedom of speech/blahblah” only makes my ban finger itch. In addition, other potentially offensive words are off limits. This includes, but is not limited to: faggot, bitch, retard, you get the point."

On this corner, Diet Snapple remarks that Dyvinesweetness is so 'un-McGruder'. In another little corner of the thread, someone brings up the first amendment.

5:44pm: Small Sailor Moon Drama
The story according to the mice on wank report: Lori, aka Sailor Moon, aka Usagi Kou, found the post her ex-boyfriend made about her on Pocky Box and was Not Happy. When DJ Ranma S tried to diffuse the situation, she took him off her friends list. He retaliated in kind and made a public post, which includes the usual complaints about Lori and advises her to seek therapy.

Comments have been disabled but abuse of the English language abounds in the screencaps. There's also a reference to a lawsuit in the post; does anyone know what that's about?

Surprised no one found this via wank_report.

Over on Yahoo! group highlanderworldwide, wank is abound! Apparently some fans are none too happy about Adrian Paul's newest role as a gay submarine captain in the movie Tides of War. There are shouts of "Duncan Adrian isn't gay!" on one side and chanting for "more gay!" from the other.
Name calling, threats of unsubbing, and accusations of homophobia run through the posts, making for quite an amusing wank.
