2:07pm: House fans advocate suicide
Moved to [info]fandom_wank from this post in [info]clairvoyantwank.

Over on LJ's house_md community, junglequeen88 posts a question asking about other viewers thoughts on the decision of the PotW's (Patient of the Week) decision to refuse treatment for cancer in light of the death of her infant son, caused by her during a psychotic episode.

missravenx wastes no time in stating her opinion.

I think she was a wimp. She could have gotten over it if she tried, but she didn't even try.

House tried to convince her she was being an idiot... but some idiots just never listen.

Naturally, there is some disagreement.

Arguing with community members isn't enough, however, and she takes it to her own journal, not once but twice, and makes a brief stopover in between on the post in [info]clairvoyantwank right here.

The short version:
I'm right, everyone else is too stupid to know what I'm talking about, and if I repeat myself often enough by copy pasting my words, maybe it will sink in, but probably not because the House fandom is full of idiots.

Granted, that's just my interpretation of her comments, but she's pushed it from potential wank to mature wank (oxymoron?) and so here it is, giving the House fandom one more point on the Wank Scoreboard.

EDIT: She's done trying to talk to everyone but she's keeping track with the Home Version.

Wow, they've moved it to yet another post (still not on livejournal [I've never even heard Journalfen.net] where this started... are they trying to hide from me? !) I can't believe my opinion about a tv show has this much controversy... I'm only linking this so later on when I look back on my journal I can re-read how ridiculous these people are. Although I'm quite tired of reading their uninformed and unintelligent statements and even more tired of trying explain to them what I mean. I know why House didn't keep trying to get that woman to take the treatment now... because people like that do not listen to logic.

EDIT II: Not wanky, but junglequeen88, as you can imagine, received an inbox full from that last post and politely asks the fandom can't we all just get along. So far, so good, and everyone who has posted so far has been reasonable and sane, but it's the weekend and the House fandom is the up and comer this season.
(Thanks for the link, [info]sarahkjrsten.)

EDIT III: missravenx posts an open letter for us on her journal, summing it up with the familiar chorus And by the way. I don't care what you think. In actuality, I'm laughing at you all.
(Thanks [info]rekall for piquing my curiosity enough to go looking for the link.)
Current Mood: *thud*
4:28pm: LUSH wank with a little BPAL on the side
On the Lush forums, the ladies interrupt their discussion of soap to out an apparently notorious troll who has created a new account. Pilotkitten, aka PK, aka Mrs. Murphy seems to be persona non grata among the Lushites. Gioia asks for the backstory "before making a judgment about whether Mrs. Murphy is a 'bad guy'".

Here's why )
10:48pm: FFXI RMT Wankaga
A little background: Final Fantasy XI is a MMORPG like World of Warcraft or Everquest. And like WoW and EQ, FFXI forums are environments hostile to all forms of intelligent discussion. Among the myriad of triggers that drive players into a frenzy of wank, the grandaddy of them all is the subject of Real Money Trade (RMT). RMT, or gilselling, is the practice of making real-life bank off selling in-game money ('gil' in FFXI).*

The wank gets off to a tl;dr start when the OP makes brave and controversial statment: "I support gil buying". The OP, a high level EVERYTHING, basically reasons that he'd rather party with a gil-buyer with great equipment than someone who doesn't buy gil and has sub-par equipment. Besides, OP is filthy rich in-game, and the struggles of petty mortals to earn money don't really concern him.

Everything is chugging along fairly reasonably until Dragonbruce drops the S bomb: "That attitude is why slavery lasted as long as it did." The OP quickly assures him that RMT is absolutely not like slavery, and things return to deceptive calm.

Then! From out of nowhere! Two pages rich in wank staples, including: Bizzare metaphors! "I'm taking my toys and leaving!" Flagrant violations of Godwin's Law! And my personal favorite, INTRANET DEBATES ON RELATIVISM.

About the only things we're missing here are ship wars and 'hed is pastede on yay' for a complete wank diet.

*Yes, real money exchanged for fake money. I know I just broke a lot of brains there, but I think a lot of people (including myself) begin to see it as a viable option when they realize that Asshat +1 they're salivating over will literally take weeks of repetitive farming/crafting/mining to earn.
