2:05am: Emo Wars
Long story short, I checked out the youtube video for Panic! At The Disco's "I Write Sins Not Tragedies" and, lo and behold, there are over a thousand comments. I fully expected them to be along the lines of "thes band R0X0Rs! I <3 [whatever the singer's name is]!" by emogurl91, and a great many of them are. However, a lot more of it is random, generalized wank.

Since I don't understand how youtube's threading works, here's a smattering of comments that I found entertaining:

It's good for laughing at stupid emo kids, but it does go on a bit. Of course, it also helps to imagine that every single poster is MsScribe.

3:42am: "My disgust with the game ending is because is too religious for me"
First report ever, and on a thing that is not very fresh, but still juicy.
Earthbound is a nice and just awesome RPG from 1995, who in fact is the second from the (cult) Mother RPG game series. The games focus in a 90's kid with psychic powers and a red cap, and his friends (a phychic girl, a genius boy and an asian prince) figthing againts an evil alien named Gygas and the beings who are made or influenced by him. It has interesting things, like a modern ambientation, bats and frying pans as weapons, nice music, a campy graphic style and a kirky sense of humor. It's a cool game, really.
Earthbound have a somewhat small but nice fandom, where the few wanky thing are about when the 3rd game on the Saga was going out, (and, when finally caemes out, when will come to the American (or at least English-speaking) market), pseudocatfigths with fans from another series with better/nicer graphics, and small kerfulfles about censoring or translations issues. The fans are very devoted and somewhat crazy, but not so batshit inane as in, for example, FF VII.
However, there are some clueless who disturbes the waters and amazes us with it.
In the Starmen.net forums a dude called Atherz begins a thread called Upset with Game's Ending.... (SPOILERS) where s/he veltiles his frustration about her/his perceived religiosity on the game. And the fun begins!

Sadly, the thing frezzes quickly and only lasted three pages, but are the most weird reason for wank in this gaming fandom, and the answers are so indescribable...
Amusingly, some of the regulars detected inconsciously the absurd and the wank potential.

4:48pm: Pern Fandom Wanks Again
I resisted for a good long time, but the wank it just keeps going.

There is a Pern board called the Kitchen Table. On this, the admin have a private office area. There is another Pern board called Pernese Friends. On this some people have a private Hellkats area.

All is good until a couple of the admin frim the Kitchen Table insult another of the Kitchen Table admin in the Hellkats area. Another admin reports it back, the admin doing the insulting get sacked and after that there's a whole lot of shouting.


People feel that as the Kitchen Table is paid for by donations they should get to vote on how it's run. People feel the office area should be open. People feel they should get to vote on current Hosts. People feel they should get to vote on how new Hosts are chosen.

Meanwhile the wank just keeps going.

(There are probably more links. I know t5here was one on the Hellkats board somewhere because I saw it posted on the Kitchen Table. There's so much Kitchen Table stuff though, that finding it seems an impossible task.)

ETA:-Another thread goes up! Could it all be a massive conspiracy?

ETA2:-Looks like the Pernese Friends lot do have wank too. And after some poking I found their side of the story.

ETA3:- And someone spots they've been wanked.

ETA4:- Handy timeline of events is posted. People get snarky about people leaving. Hosts try to explain how they choose new Hosts.

ETA5:- The I'm leaving post that was being snarked at. Which I would have spotted the first time, but these people are wanking so hard it's hard to keep up.

ETA6:- Did I mention being hard to keep up? Pernese Friends decides to bah-leet most of their wank and move it to a private forum because people are laughing at them people might get upset. Stupidly, I did not take screen caps. Anyone want to upload copies and I'll link them.
