1:17am: Don't stop wankawanka!
Apparently the Digimon fandom has decided, in some odd spurt of contrariness, that September is the month to wank more openly and publicly than usual. It starts innocently enough in the
digimon community on lj with
tryxkittie's
post asking for opinions in comparing each season of the dub and how others think it rates with other dubs.
ryosato starts the ball rolling by opening their comment with a statement that they hate the dub along with how much most dubs suck and that older ones are better (...). Okay!
ajora starts poking them for it and it gets really amusing really fast. Unfortunately (or fortunately for us),
ryosato had to go and
post in their own damn community about how they're tired of being called an elitist blahblahblah and generally trying to make themselves look good (and failing). Small wank, but very rewarding in the amusement factor.
3:04pm: Dear Kristen Bell - What are your thoughts on yaoi?
Kristen Bell, the star of the tv show
Veronica Mars did an interview with
Teen Vogue in which she dissed Logan/Veronica, the fan favorite and arguably the canon OTP of the show as "gross."
It's the fifth diss in two months.
( Veronica Mars fandom wanksplodes: Observe the exclamation marks of rage. )
9:02pm: You can have it for free - just don't post it to the Internet!
Over on
xfiles, an ever-vigilant moderator,
leelee_cakes, posts
that "thou shalt not post leaked blooper reels" in the community.
Blooper reels?
Yes, these are outtakes from the X-Files that were not released to the public. Tud, the person who owns these reels, has been distributing to folks via regular mail free of charge with the exception of the cost of materials, but asks that they not be distributed on the Internet.
Apparently, this
violates the the spirit of fandom and a battle breaks out over whether or not Tud is making money off of this.
Clearly someone didn't listen to Tud as the blooper reels have been
leaked to the Internet, therefore causing the chain of events leading to this wank.
Meanwhile,
leelee_cakes has been accused of being brainwashed by the Havenites and in retalitation invokes her "I am mod, hear me roar" powers, which leads to a merry war with freedom of speech discussions and the plea to get along like the mature adults we all are.
Edit: Our own vigilant posters here on F_W went looking for the exact blooper in question and discovered that it was
deleted from YouTube. Rewards are being offered for those who can find it!
Edit #2: A very gracious mouse found the blooper in question again and
restored it to YouTube. Thank you, Mouse!
