Thoughts on
yaoi slash! Colber Report/Daily Show style!
rocza posts to
several different communities about a new group s/h/it is starting, the
tds_tcr_academe. According to the user info (which the OP so lovingly included in his multiple other community posts):
The original academe was a society whose purpose it was to promote a particular aspect of knowledge or culture. This community is for people who enjoy The Daily Show and The Colbert Report, but are frustrated with the influx of fans who don't have the ability to critically think about issues.
Or, in planer speak: no fangirls, no slash, no fluff. This is a place to talk about the shows and what's on the shows with people who can actually finish a sentence without saying "squee" and who realize that sometimes, a slice of pizza is just a slice of pizza. If you insist on squees and pizzasex, this is not the place for you.Because fake news is SERIOUS FUCKING BUSINESS. Wait a minute..what’s that? No slash? Uh oh. This cross-community wank pretty much has it all! Some choice bits..
NO! WE CAN’T ALL JUST GET ALONG!Our Moderation will be way more 1337! (By the way, don’t like it DON’T JOIN!!!11)Damn straight it could. :DOMFG HOMOPHOBIA!But..but..I like slash AND intelligent comedy!ICON FLAMING-oh snap, is that some Godwin’s law over there? tds_tcr_snark gets some pointing and laughing action in(First time reporter..wee!)

1:22pm:
I love the smell of lolita!wank in the morning.
Basically the EGL community on livejournal consists of a few thousand catty girls who dress ridiculously in ridiculously expensive frilly clothes and make fun of other girls for dressing ridiculously. (In case some of you weren't aware, Elegant Gothic Lolita is a J-fashion made popular by
an elitist xenophobe Mana in order to make sure he still had a career after the band he was in went their separate ways.) So obviously, there's going to be spinoff communities and drama.
One such place is
lolita_fucks, a mocking community that does what every mocking community ever does: it makes fun of people on the internet.
Well,
serraasuka wants the community to
show her their awesome, since if they're so 1337 then they must be the bestest roritachans EVAR. Or something like that.
Choice quotes include:
How did you get in to the fashion? Did you never make mistakes? Did you tumble out of your mothers wombs with the perfect amount of (high quality) race adorning your pretty little miniature bonnet?Also, yes, it does make a difference whether or not this community is full of 'gorgeous GLB models or hideous butter trolls'. Because if you are hideous butter trolls (which I am starting to strongly suspect you are), posting in a community of this sort is super lame, and obviously designed to make yourself feel better about looking so hideous. Kthnx.I keep my lunch money daily and eat scraps from the cans to afford Lolita clothings. AND DON'T YOU DARE SAY THAT EATING FROM CANS IS NOT LOLIZZ!11!And the winning smackdown of the post, courtesy of
danaeaphrael:
It wouldn't be considered slander, it would be considered being a bunch of catty fucking bitches who are talkin' smack about your shitty fashion.Smallish, but still amusing.
10:39pm: Sarcasm = ZOMG Psychopath
Over at
the Princess Tutu LJ community,
tomoyoichijouji asks the members of the community about what other series they're interested in. So far, so unwanky, until
ryosato makes
the following comment:
Well, I think the reason this happens is simply because Tutu is inherently an "otaku" show... it's not something the casual anime fan typically watches. And otaku, as we all know, watch a lot of anime. ^_~ I'd also say the reason they like Naruto and Inu Yasha aren't because those are necessarily similar in quality or substance is just because of odds... those are mainstream, easily accessable anime, and are incredibly popular. So I think that's all there is to that.To which
haro replies:
Yeah, IY and Naruto are just big because they're mainstream and easy to access. It has nothing to do with their quality level. Never mind the fact that they both had huge fanbases still long before they ever came to America and were only available in fansubs- therefore less easy to access than PT is now. They're also not hugely popular, and in some cases, crtically adored over in Japan either.
ryosato takes immediate offense:
=D Wow, can we say psychopath?
Take a BREATH before you post insane replies to people. O_o; The reason Naruto is liked by fans of Princess Tutu is because it's popular (the meaning of popular is of course that lots of people like it) so the odds are for Princess Tutu fans liking it. Also, because it's easily accessible, lending to its popularity. It was popular in sub fans, yes, but Naruto is popular in the mainstream now as well, since it's on TV. I work in a comic store, I know what I'm talking about. The same with Inu Yasha. A lot of their popularity is owed simply to the fact that they're ON TV, and therefore AVAILABLE to a HUGE amount of people that would never have watched anime otherwise.
I never said that being popular or mainstream was a BAD thing. O_o;;
Also, they ARE NOT similar in quality or substance. Quality-wise, Princess Tutu is above and beyond MANY anime. That doesn't mean they're BAD shows, just that Tutu had a lot more money put into it. The animation is much more consistent and clean, and everything about it had more time and effort and funds... so quality-wise it is a higher priced production. And substance-wise, I don't think you can really compare Princess Tutu and Naruto or Inu Yasha very easily. ^_^;;
So uh... yeah. Take a breath next time before ripping into someone for something they didn't evey say! =D It helps you not look like a complete lunatic.And with a calm, reasonable reply like that, you just KNOW that things are going to end well, right?
