8:38am: Another one from FFR Rants!
OMG. Someone is shocked that people disagrees with him/her in a *gasp* RANTS comm?! And does NOT like the moderator tags?! DDDDD:

11:34am: Same Shit, Same Fanboy
I really don't know why Brakus!wank fills me with pure, unadulterated glee. There's just something compelling about a 30-something guy living in his parents' basement and begging for his creative genius to finally be recognized so he can die a happy Otaku.

But anyway...

On the long side, complete with highlights )

Still going as far as I can tell, though Brakus himself hasn't weighed back in yet. Will probably grow a little bit more before the mods take away the lube.

Oh, and special note to [info]vafan (aka Brakus): you would do best to 1) not sockpuppet this post and try to defend yourself again, and 2) take Dokool's challenge. For the record, I had planned on attending AUSA this year despite not making the finals. Unfortunately, something called "money" became an issue, and I could not afford it unless I was keen on taking Greyhound and sleeping in a tent, which I wasn't. At least not in Virginia in the middle of November.

5:26pm: Happy Feet is an Evil Propaganda Movie.
Yes, you read that correctly, but let me repeat it:

Happy Feet is an Evil Propaganda Movie

Well what if I were to tell you that the overall metaphor, that the overall themes of Happy Feet are that of A) there is nothing wrong with individuality, that society can actually benefit from it, B) the ecological devastation unknowingly caused by man on the environment and the need to stop it, C) the evils of keeping animals in captivity, D) it being okay to defy your elders for the sake of “the truth” and, oh yeah, E) The evils of religion. Wait, what? Back up a second. Did I read that right? The…evils…of religion?

As expected, not everyone agrees.
10:07pm: "Why can't fandom *strike*get along*/strike* be polite?" "Oh? What do you mean by polite?"
Fanfic writer Diana Williams wonders what happened to good manners?

Many people, some via metafandom, wander in to ask what do you mean by good manners?

Confusion, cultural comparisons, and over 140 comments result.

Ow, all that html hurt. ;_;

ETA: It appears that the discussions in this post on The Cutting Board may have been the catalyst for Diana's post.
