1:47pm: Fanfic critisism - like rape, in a way
(Disclaimer: Reported by a mousie at wank_report. I have nada to do with Buffy/Angel fandom and thus don't know much of the backstory this wank alludes to, but it sure sounds impressive.)

sweptawaybayou makes a vague rant about OOCness and using rape as a plot point in Buffy/Angel fandom, which in comments is revealed to have been sparked off by sexymermaid's fanfic. Friends of her pop up and are a tad irate and upset. There are even disagreements using smilies.

Things really kick off when sexymermaid apparently makes a reaction post to this critisism, (quoted as saying) I didn't know until the worst happened again recently, and my words, feelings, were raped again. The post seems to have gotten a later flock (sniff), but gets referenced here.

There are attempts at summarizing and alluding to past wankery, denounciations and defriending and sexymermaid herself announces all fanfic will now be friends locked, which makes all her friends flock to be supportive and denounce the actions/words of some very thoughtless, petty assholes causing you to close yourself to a lot, to quote one.

Oh, and there are manips. Oh yes. Lots and lots of manips.

*goes back to drooling over the Doctor to cleanse eyeballs*

Bits of this fight is apparently now making it to metafandom, which will probably add drama to the proceedings.

More people are weighing in on the whole Fanlib thing. Oh, I know, that's not news. But let's examine the issue based on "Good Old-Fashioned Fear of the Cock!"

Today, we bring you teh_no, who has to explain things to all the silly fandom wimmins: "You're being sexist."

Other fandom males comment on the violence inherent in the system the sexism they've faced from women, including our old pal rann - no shit, people, he's a GUY (although, honestly, most people I know who hate him hated him when they thought he was a woman, so I'm not sure his argument carries any weight)! And let's not forget mako_eyed_boy, who has not yet realized that people don't hate him because he's a man, they just hate him because he's a motherfucking tool.

Some (assumed! Sorry, Rann) fandom females add their own good points comments, but really, it's all about the men here, so we shouldn't focus on the thoughts of those prone to vicious cat-fighting.
