10:29am: Mac users are lazy and there's no free rides!
OK, on Neopets, there's a special toolbar you can download that'll tell you, among other things, when a special prize is being given out. People in Neopian_Adults who have the toolbar often give an alert to the people who don't have it, followed by the link to the giveaway page, since you can't access it from the main site.

Box_of_sorrows, however, posted an alert without a link, and people explode. Mostly Box_of_sorrows him/herself.

The original post is gone, but here's what BoS posted by way of a reply (emphasis theirs):

"Sorry for not including a link, all you had to do was click the "alert" button on your toolbar, is it that complicated? I made the post in a hurry for YOUR benefit as I had seen the alert and was heading out somewhere but wanted to do my part here....

Whoever deleted the post, mods? thanks, it saved more whiney LJ emails arriving...

*edit*
Just as a quick footnote to the people who moaned, the rules here that apply are:

5) Please be kind and respect your fellow members. After all, we are all adults here, let's try to act it. So we'll lay down the golden rule: 'If you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all'.

6) No begging posts, asking for donations. We all started off with nothing, and do the hard work to earn the points ourselves. No free rides in this community.
"

When people point out that not everyone wants the toolbar, BoS replies with Seems a bit suck not to want (okay or be able) to install the toolbar, but still want the rewards from it. Bit like saying there's nothing in your bank account but you'd still like to earn some interest ;-)

And when a Mac user pips up saying that he can't install the toolbar, Seems a bit of a cheap excuse to want the link when you've not installed the software.

And of course there's eventual macros.
11:27am: When MovieHole mucks it up. X-Files Wank ensues.
It seems some places are desperate for X-Files news - so desperate it seems, that they're willing to post without any research and make it up (original article) (from MovieHole - Note, this article has changed several times as you will see):
Someone at the Haven  picks up on it and pokes holes through this guy's entire story.  Someone suggests they e-mail the guy.  And they do.   Someone makes it a point to point out "I get the impression from other places that they don't practice with the highest journalistic standards over there. It makes Ain't It Cool News looks like the Washington Post."

Mr. MovieHole guy e-mails one Haven member back, with this
response )

And goes on to send the member the side script for one of the characters, which is just a portion of a really old script from the series.  MovieHole guy is still clueless.

THEN, Mr. MovieHole guy goes on to change his
Ohh.. nice shot there Mr. MovieHole guy - do your research first and there won't be any problems.  After a head count at the Haven, it appears no member of the Haven Mafia had threathened the guy. Moving on....

Someone on the Haven board, yet again posts the dialogue from the episodes (as noted in these stories here , here , and here )  that the sides are clearly from old episodes.  So, did they save the calamity?

No sir!

MovieWeb picks up on the story!  Everyone disses MovieWeb in the comments!

MovieHole Guy goes ahead and changes
His hole gets dug a little deeper, he posted the entire slide - does this mean a DMCA notice? One never knows!!  Anyway the article, in its ever changing state is here.  One thing is clear, MovieHole guy needs to stick to what he knows - because clearly he knows nothin' of the X-Files and should stay far, far away from it!

And by another show of hands, the Haven Mafia still claims they had nothign to do with it! :P
