Here's the story, of a wanky newsgroup...

This used to be a nice little place. Occasionally there was the outbreak of flames, or a troll invasion, but the problem would be solved and they'd go back to discussing The Brady Bunch.

Then, slowly, the trolls began to take over, and people responded. The trolls gained power, posting sexually and morally depraved crap not only about the show, but other members. Meanwhile, topics would be beaten into the ground only to be dug up and beaten some more. A few select ones I can remember:

"I'm obsessed with Jimmy Bracken who was in like, three episodes! I want info/nude pics/Bracken himself!"
"There are ERRORS in the Growing Up Brady book!"
"Jan was short for Janet/Janice!"
Plus countless threads about Robert Reed's sexuality.

And who could forget the MEMBER wank? J vs. M, M vs. Everyone, A vs. J, K vs. D, etc.* Between J's personal life, M's anger issues, and K's general asshat behavior the board resembled an episode of Jerry Springer sometimes. And a troll who I shall refer to as Mr. Anonymous would capitalize on the Personal Life wankage and make disgusting posts about it. He even got ME once for trying to defend another member. :P I was somewhat amused, actually.

I eventually left, cause the trolling and flamewars were outweighing the relevant posts. Occasionally, I'll check the newsgroup to see what's new...the entire place has degenerated into trolls, flames, and wank.

It's almost amusing, in a sick, sad, way. *shakes head*
