The Devil's Whores! I love 'em!
Sweet whiskey sour, it's lesbian goth wank!

That's right kids, it starts as an innocent thread on the Shoujo-Ai forums for people to post goth lesbian anime pics (now we're gettin' specifyin'). Of course not everyone likes the goth look, and people feel the need to say so, and other people feel the need to accuse the first people of making sweeping generalizations while, you guessed it, making sweeping generalizations.
Self-righteousness, pseudo-intellectualism and of course a lot of hot anime chicks ensue. Choice quotes:

How flattering: As for Goth Lesbians, I see them as The Devil's Whores or the Love of Darkness, total... turn on...
::cries:: I wanna see Lesbians in Public!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Poser is a lifestyle choice, dammit!: Goth culture has nothing to do with wearing chains and leather. Most don't even know why it is that we all wear black. Well, black is not official a color, it's a mixture of all the other colors. Basically the message is, i am you and everything else combined, simply meaning-nature. Real Gothic's are wiccans. (trust me) The rest are just posers (there is nothing wrong with posers by the way, so keep those flames away from me )

Everything you know is wrong: White and black are brightness levels of any hue, any hue from red-orange-yellow-green-blue-violet (the colors visible to the human eye, hence infrared and ultraviolet) raised to a certain brightness looks white, and down to a certain darkness looks black (ever notice how black clothes will fade into another color like brown/blue?). Maybe "brightness" isnt the technically correct word, but you get what I mean. Black and White have nothing to do with mixes of colors.

Well, one's the opposite of the other, for starters: What's the difference between posers and non-posers?
You're all posers IMO. Trying to dress like if it was halloween everyday...

Right up there with the Goddess-worship: Is that a loophole in wiccan rules of karma? (If it's passive-aggressive, it's ok to be negative?)

I'll let my icon do the talking: I, myself, like to think of myself as a bit more enlightened then the genral population (considering that it takes the general population to get a republican in the whitehouse) enlightened is a bit different then inteligent though. I write an editorial for the school newspaper just about every month on current politics, I like to conjure up 15 page essays on my views of the world, but am I doing this all to prove im "deep"? No, not really.

I see the light, I will never discriminate again: If someone's born having a taste and fondness for Abrocombi and Fitch then they'er going to ware it, right?

And there are three more pages of it! O happy day!

Big public lesbian snogs to kabukikatze of LJ for finding this for me. Rawr. (We're not Goth, but I dressed as one once for Halloween--not that there's anything WRONG with being a poser.)

My life isn't fair...
In all of my life, I have Never... NEVER met a lesbian or seen lesbians kiss of tounge or something in front of me, and my gf is Bi but she's all the way on the otherside of the state.

This kind of fanboy is why I stick to femmeslash fandoms in which nearly all of the members are, if not sapphic, at least female.

I wonder if yaoi fangirls make queer men's skin crawl in the same way?

Ick. Ick. Ick.

non-sapphic female femslash fan here, yo.
I just feel sorry for that boy. Honestly. Seeing girls kiss would make his life better?

Most people in the gothic subculture tend to be athiests

Athiests? What's that? /sarcasm

Athiests? What's that?

The superlative of "heathen".

You know, I was trying to explain the whole "lesbianism is a higher form of being and therefore I must worship them via my fanfiction" type of fan to a group of people at a convention, and if I just had this guy, I wouldn't have needed to explain...

Thank fuck for queer girls writing femslash.

Well... I don't think lesbianism is necessarily a higher form of being... (Especially since I've known some lesbians that are only on a higher plane than the rest of us in that they are obviously not connected to this thing we call "reality".)
I do have to agree that it would probably make my day to have a "lesbian siting", tho. n.n;;; Oh well. I'mma fanboy. I just try not to be too rabid a one.

Kind of reminds me of that Seinfeld ep where George saw his ex-girlfriend with another woman and his first thought was, "A lesbian sighting....!"

In any event, saying goths all have one mindset is a little ethnocentric (learned the word in anthro, and that's the first time I got to us it).

Incorrectly, I might add.

I hate posers, but even more I hate elitists who scream "POSER!" if someone dares to listen to a song/wear a color/like anything that's apparently reserved only for the TRUE members of a certain clique...something like that. I mean, if someone says "I'M SO HARDCORE!" cause they listen to a couple of Linkin Park songs, that's stupid. But going off on a tangent about how the Hardcore Club is SO exclusive and how there's SO much more to be understood about them and blah blah blah is also stupid. People should be able to listen to or wear whatever the hell they want without being slammed on.

Even if they're wearing low-cut bellbottoms three sizes too small so their fat bulges out over the waistband and one of those apron shirts? Please don't tell me I can't make fun of them!

You have to listen to Linkin Park to be goth?

Does that mean I have to give up Concrete Blonde and Bauhaus? "Bela Lugosi's Dead" is the ultimate goth anthem

And on another note, what about the hip huggers so low that they don't show crack, but g-strings from 3 sizes ago?

*Blink*

*blinkblink*

Sorry, honey, that wasn't on the rules list I got, so I'm gonna have to check your Goth card, let's see...you get...

-10 Goth Points (GP's) for using the term "Gothic" as a noun...

-25 GPs for making incredibly stupid blanket statements...

-50 GPs for being annoyingly Wiccan, and, of course...

-1000 GPs for admitting to being goth.

You can work these off in the usual way (all TRUE goths know how). And remember our fabulous prizes for sufficent numbers of Goth Points! We've got a tough race this month for the first prize, and you're not yet out of the running!

(P.S. I know that the person who said this all isn't you, Bohicamouse.)

I just LOVE the sterotyping of Goths...

They're all wiccan! They don't laugh! They listen to Marilyn Manson and Linkin Park! They wear black all the time! They wear their lank, greasy hair over their faces and write depressive poetry! Wearing jeans? You can't be a Goth!!

*cacks*

What a load of bullshit. Ahhh.... Gothy wankiness... it makes me giggle at the stupidity of it all... If it was going by the stereotyping above then shit... I'd better hand in my goff-as-fuck badge right now... *snnh snnh snnh*
