Big O wank, er kinda
Now I throughly enjoy The Big O so when Cartoon Network actually got a second season I was thrilled.

Till the utterly fucked it up.

Basically episode 26 was supposed to be shown tonight. It wasn't. For some reason ep 20 was.

Naturally the fans are pissed and [IMO] rightly so. The Adult Swim boards are flooded with wank though I'm having trouble deciding who's wankier, the fans or the network for screwing up so royally.

I provide a link to the boards but I think you can only be accesse it you're a member.

*UPDATE*

I just got info from my reliable sources [IE I was watching reruns of Futurama and Family Guy] that it wasn't intentional. Someone screwed up the lables of the tapes ~~and was throughly beaten with a sack of hammers~~ but they'll show the ep next Sunday.

Heh. It's weird, my satellite on-screen guide had the name of the new ep up and everything.
My friend Arkhaine was ROYALLY pissed, and pretty much fumed for the entire half an hour it was on.
I'm annoyed, too, but not really pissed... the series has gotten so headfucky that I've barely been able to follow what the hell's happening the past few eps, anyway. (Understanding headfuck philosophy anime isn't a strong point of mine. I've had Xenogears explained to me at least three times, I still don't completely get what the fuck happened.)

	Actually, the second season of The Big O was basically funded by CN and is being displayed for the first time EVER on there (I think). So the CN-is-lame argument basically doesn't apply here, amazingly enough. Not that I watch the show anyway, but hey. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

I dunno if anyone (here) is saying CN is lame... but Adult Swim is actually a subdivision (which is why they don't use the Toonami version, Midnight Run, anymore). It has a different team of people running it, who are seperate from CN somewhat, though I imagine they still answer to CN ultimately.
If the Adult Swim team decided to do this as a prank, it was a baaaad call on their part. As someone put it, "Whether or not this was intentional, -someone's- getting fired."

There were huge amounts of wank on the ToonZone boards about the Big O error last night. People were actually posting death threats to those responsible and calling for revolution (against what, I have no idea). I waited until this morning to post about it on F_W, because I wanted the wank to stew for awhile. The thread got deleted! Fuck their responsible modding practices!

Now I know to mock when the wank is fresh...

I don't know about wanky, but it wasn't a good move on Cartoon Network's part. I wasn't working this weekend--I work for the Evil Cable Company--so I have no idea how many people called in when the wrong Big O episode came on. Normally networks warn cable companies about this stuff.

It doesn't beat two weeks ago, though, when NBC pulled the new West Wing because of the Cubs game running on Fox. Oh, the calls. The calls. NBC, you *idiots*...anyway.

See, when I flipped on the tv and saw that Law and Order was on, I shrugged and said to myself, "Oh, because of the baseball game," and then went and watched Jake 2.0 instead. It frightens me that people were actually upset enough to call about it. Same with Big O. Time to take a step back and reevaluate the place of television in your lives, people.

Heh. CBS did something similar with "CSI" then too. I was a bit disappointed, because it had looked like that week's episode (which they skipped entirely the next week) was going to be good. But anyway, the rerun was of an episode I'd missed last season, so ultimately, I was still entertained, and I didn't die from missing the real episode.

I didn't go out looking for any wank concerning that one though... but I don't doubt that it existed.
