	yeah, that confuses me, too. I think "getting wanked" actually means having shown up on f_w, but in that case...still not much sense. Dude, he's not the only one who made a post about having been 'featured' here, either. Is it impossible to think he's genuinely finding it funny? I know I am, and we're friends, so... Are we gonna DoubleWank on anyone who does that now?

This is actually a good point, one I noticed among numerous past F_W threads. It's all fun and mocking until it's one of your friends, and then you feel obligated to defend said friend in which now F_W is making it personal.

News: F_W is not making it personal. Has never made it personal. Your friend (and it's not just Abbadon here) may be a wonderful person all around, but he/she just did something wanky, and it got noticed. Don't worry, we all do it at some point or another. Or maybe not. Whatever.

Hmmm, not really, no.
I'm sure there are some of my friends I would treat like sacred cows, and lose my sense of humor over/for (I'm still new at this humor thing after all, grew up without it).
But David isn't one of them, and for a very good reason: I don't need to ask him to know that if the first FW post about him made his week, the second one probably made his month. He really IS attention-starved that way *g*. He must be laughing madly, revelling in it - he's the first to say that whether negative or positive doesn't exactly matter.

For me to be offended of his behalf would be more than a little silly. I honestly thought the posted link wasn't wanky enough - and as there's such a history of wank behind the scenes, I truly thought we were submitted to a personal axegrinding. I've revised my opinion since, actually, pushed to examine the evidence further by some of the comments here. The analogy game was definitely worthy of a link, wankish as all get out. [And my guess is that I didn't see some of the wankiness because I share that kind of mediawankishness with David - that's one of the things which makes us friends, after all. I can wank with the worst of them, on my good days.]

Do I get to be linked now? I sooo like when Fw goes Meta, man.

(And does anyone else think that 'FW goes Meta' sounds a bit like 'Debby does Dallas', or is it just me?)

That said... I'm not in the fandom, I've got no personal axe to grind, but what with the wandering Jew reference, the dis on Oscar Wilde, and comparing his favorite RPG to Woody Allen*, it seemed pretty damned wanktastic from these seats.

But the past history was about this guy posing as his own fangirl. That's fucking beautiful, it's relevant to the whole superiority trip that was being wanked in the post, and it's so goddamn funny I could plotz. If that doesn't belong on FW, what does?
