Small wank addendum: angeluszion
A while ago, angeluszion used fic_flames to showcase her own lame flames. fandom_wank was on the scene.

Today, her friend maxi_the_pirate posted in braintrauma about a Fanfiction.net author who not only has an annoying profile (it's bad, but nothing special), but is being abusive.

Here's the "abuse".


Hello, all! I just want to thank everyone who reviewed my fics! Thank you! But let us get down to business: Angelus-Zion is a- Well, I can not say it. But, honestly, she is mean and senseless! I have seen that she has flamed wonderful fics such as Necralis and Kyren's 'Jak ll: The Darkened Path' and nobinoir's 'Red Tears of Pain'! AUGH!!!
So, what I am about to say is a bit out of character for me, but I think that it needs to be said:

Angelus-Zion, I hope that you are reading this, because I want you to know how idiotic you are. If you have a problem with our fics, than do one of three things: 1) criticize constructively. If you just flame senselessly, than it does not make the author look bad. It makes you look bad. 2) Do not waste anyone's time. 3) Why do you not write something and show us how it is done?
Unless you are one of those people who like to get a rise out of others. If so, it will not work with me. I bet that you are a lonely, cold- hearted grouch with no life other than flaming fics senselessly. And about your affinity with fics having to follow the original storyline: If that were the case, than there would not be much of a point to writing fan FICTIONS, now would there?

And to the authors who were flamed by her: Just ignore her. Eventually, she will get tiered of harassing us if she can not get us riled.

I've found maxi_the_pirate irritating because so many of his/her (?) posts at fanficrants were one-liners with a link to a bad fic. Um, we know there are bad fics out there, hon. Give us a rant, or go post somewhere else, like stop_the_badfic or something!

Plus, if you're going to rant about someone's grammar and bad spelling, it's helps if you yourself can actually spell and follow some sort of general set of grammar rules.

Not to be a bitch about it, but, well, I am - maxithepirate and goththegoat were just two of many reasons the MSR started becoming not worth checking up on after a while. I'm sorry, if you're ripping on people for being stupid? Try not to be stupid. Kthx.

She used to post a ton on the Mary Sue community. Sometimes, people would get on her for her own grammar mistakes. This happened on Mock the Stupid too. People got on her in a heartbeat. I think she ended up leaving.

Oh, and I know of people who don't use capital letters, but otherwise have sound grammar/punctucation skills. Such people don't bother me, but that's as far as I'm willing to go, other than the occassional mispelled word. Heh

I can't recall anymore who said it, but one of my friends once suggested making a new community entitled "maxi_the_pirate_wank." Because, folks, this is all she ever does.

No, seriously. She was the initial reason I took the fanficrants community off my friends-read list, and later tried to spam up TWS (the latter of which I admit to having been very lax in maintaining these days, because a large portion of newbies seem to be confused on the exact definition of "eye-sporkingly bad," or the precise nature of the distinction between "bad fanfic" and "personal vendetta"). As far as her posts, though, I've never seen her actually post anything that doesn't amount to "OMG look at this person they write horrible fanfics someone make them stop." (She never actually replied on TWS when some of us suggested she might want to clean up her grammar first before telling other people what to do with their fanfics.)

Actually, I think she's pretty much the reason that rule was made in fanficrants, because most of the posts prior to it were maxi posting her one-liners. I stopped clicking on her links when I realized that most of them weren't nearly as bad as she would have us believe.

And a lot of the ones she said were chatspeak really weren't. They were in script form, which is pretty annoying when there isn't enough description, but there are situations where it works and doesn't violate ff.net's ToS.

I might be playing Devil's Advocate here, but I almost wonder whether maxi_the_pirate has some sort of learning disorder, or dyslexia or something, and therefore she doesn't immediately realize the blatant hypocrisy in her being a Grammar Nazi wannabe.

But if that were true, you'd think she'd be a bit more mindful of making snap judgements about the writing ability of others, or not call as much attention to her own inability.

But whatever the reason is, her greatest crime (in my opinion, anyway) is that she can't take any criticism, yet she's more than willing to dish it out. Hello?!

The person she's complaining about is only 13, which might excuse any perceived immaturity, but (a) it is against the ToS on ff.net and (b) the 'don't criticise me if you don't write' excuse is lame whoever is spouting it.

So maxi's complaint isn't especially silly in itself, although her target is a little soft for real mockery - was the point of this post just to make fun of someone the poster doesn't like very much? Is the simple fact of her posting at all supposed to be wanky?

On the other hand, her user info is spazzo. That is completely mockable.

It's wanky because

1) It's bad, but it's not that bad.
2) Maxi felt like she should post it anyway, probably because the author was being mean to her friend, and carrying a personal vendetta into a comm is always wanky.
3) Angeluszion herself is wanky, and judging from her pride in being a cool-ass flamer, the author probably had a legitimate beef (whether she broke the TOS in expressing it or not).
4) The author is wanky.

But, as the title says, it's more of an update than a separate wank.

If she is really this big a problem ignore her or ask her to stop doing what you all think is so terrible. You've made her feel like shit over bits of nothing and things she probably doesn't know piss you off. Is it so incredibly hard to assume that maybe she doesn't know she's bugging you? Yeah yeah I get the picture... as aforementioned wankity wank wank. So I amused you all some I see, I have no hard feelings though. I understand I must have done some horrible sin blah blah blah and so forth.

Well, I'm rarely really an outgoing person in real life because I have a speech impediment my fingers speak for me far more eloquently than my words. So I am overjoyous and perhaps overzealous to be capable to speak my true mind without being prohibited by my ever constant problem.
