Hobbit Protection League!
dl_anon mini-wank!

On a recent thread about an article on the hobbits in Premiere Magazine at dl_anon, a poster appears with an "Elijah is straight!" icon (which she later changes to this icon. Thanks to kyuuketsukirui for clearing that up! ^_^).

Several people express their discomfort with anyone claiming to know Lij's sexual orientation without a doubt.

The poster with the icon in question offers quotes proving her case. She is mocked.

So she decides to go and create her own community: Hobbit Respect: The Hobbit Boy's Protection League, where people can feel free to talk about Elijah being 'hirt', and enjoy "snark-free, flame-free discussion of Hobbit Fandom."

But it's no fun without the snark!

Actually, the "damn straight" icon is what she changed it to. Originally it was a text only icon that said "Elijah is straight!"

To me, the funniest part is that I don't give a shit either way! The only real reason for someone's sexual orientation to matter to me is as far as it determines whether or not I have a chance of doing them. And with Elijah, even if I wanted to do him, my chances are somewhere between "slim" and "none," so why lose sleep over it?

She very well may be, but DLA is not the place for proclaiming it. Sure we all have our own idea of whether he is or not, but none of us are claiming what we believe as absolute fact. Like someone on the thread said, that would just make us tinhats in different clothing.

At DLA they plainly say they are just there for 'teh funny' and most could care less about any damage that may have been done to Elijah or any of the guys. And if I or anyone else says WE care if they have been hurt we get flamed and laughed at. As if caring about anybody is stupid.

NOT caring is stupid. And it's very, very sad that so many people seem to feel that way.

There's nothing wrong with being gay, but what is wrong is what all these lies have done to Elijah, and how it has effected him. He has said he isn't gay, he said the rumors arent true, and Ian has called Elijah "resolutely het" two times. My father always taught me to get the info from the horses mouth. MsA and the DLR's are not the horses mouth, Elijah is. I believe him, and that is all there is to it.
What the two groups forget is these are people's lives they are laughing at, and gossiping about. Elijah is very senstive, and I doubt apprecates being gossiped about in such a sexual nature.

Because she has the inside track into poor widdle Wijah's brain...just like MsA!
