eh. I'm not exactly a fan either, but IMO this wasn't wanky at all, until blown out of proportion. Ivyblossom obviously wasn't taking the thing very seriously; it was a brief moment of :P. If your feelings were hurt by a little snarky comment like that, sheesh..

I didn't see any "PMG HOW DARE U" going on. She said she thought it was tacky and dropped the subject without any drama. My love to f_w and all, but I think anyone who really got riled up over something like this was just looking for another excuse to wank the classics. haha, neither do I, actually. (Well, it /was/ off-topic.) I just don't think that changes the fact we blew it out of proportion. Ivy didn't pursue the issue or throw any fits. The "I am appalled!" comment left by a f_w'er, on the other hand, is where I think the over-reacting happened. For one thing, I was under the impression we shouldn't troll threads. For another thing, if random impersonal snarking appalls us, what the hell are we doing at in this community?

The only thing that was tacky about the whole shebang was the terrible ass joke.

No excuse for outright rudeness IMHO. 'Nuff said.

As for fanfiction writers bemoaning people pestering them for more work - I have one word; deal.

They put the work out there for people to read, and frankly if they don't expect to be harrassed about it when they don't update for some time, then shame on their *ahem* intelligence.
