	How are the Noldor (often referred to as high-elves in LotR, IIRC) not real elves? They have (for all practical purposes) eternal life and all the other attributes of elfhood, after all. Frodo meets several in a forest between the Shire and Buckland, for instance. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

Careful, you're heading into the megawank territory that resides next to the "Does the Balrog have wings?" question. ::wink:: AFAIK his hair color wasn't clearly stated one way or the other, and the one description that comes closest to doing so involves what he looked like in the dark, so it's fairly ambiguous. *puts on superdork hat* Actually, the majority of Elves were dark-haired. Gold and silver-haired Elves were less common, and Elves with a mix of colors (like Galadriel, whose hair was silver-gold) were prized the most. Luthien Tinuviel, whose descendants are Elrond and Arwen and the line of kings of Numenor (Aragorn), had dark hair, as did most of the high-blooded Gondorians including Boromir and Faramir.
