Wheee...
First post here. Let's see what happens...

Knight Rider is an obscure fandom, and of course, quite cliquish. But they seemed nice enough, and I, at the behest of a friend, joined a forum at krfoundation.com and sort of lurked, offering a post once in a while.

It was all hunky dorey for a time.

Until, that is, my friend had the SHEER OMFG TEMERITY to point out a slight problem with the Edwards awards.

The board and website administrator decides to publically snark and chew her out... but oh, the fun doesn't stop there.

It degenerates into a scene of mass hysteria from the webmistress, who, according to her 'sister', actually threatens to commit suicide over the issue, of course prompting a flurry of "Oh no, don't do that, we love you!!1!" posts.

Then come the odd claims from her that she's receiving all this 'hate mail' and 'spam' from "Unknown sources" (gee, I wonder if that could have been aimed at my friend and I).

It would be amusing, if she didn't pull this paranoid shit on someone at *least* once a month.

Mmyep. Wank of the highest order, methinks... and the reason I avoid small fandoms with admins who think threatening to slit their wrists every time someone has a minor bug report is a good way to make friends and win people.

Wank, wank, wank, mockity-mock-mock. I mock thee, Ms Paranoia.

That may be the scariest, over-reactiviest, forgot-to-take-my-meds-this-year, reaction to a simple question I have ever seen.

It'll certainly make me think twice before I label anybody "difficult" ever again.

With that said, it's also pretty friggin' funny from a safe distance!

Yeah, I thought about killing myself, because I do live my existence on the internet, because I have little to no other life due to an illness, but well, that is not something you honestly care about either, right?

I'm desperately ill, do you hear me, and without fandom my life would be ashes, just ashes. And you're ruining it for me! *sob!*

Oh, brother.

Damn.

These people make HP fandom seem positively moderate and rational.

My favorite bit was this, though: As for the plagiarism issue, I think you are putting way too much stock into yourself. Everytime you write a fan fiction, you are committing a copyright infraction, because you are using characters (KITT, Michael, etc.) that are not your own. Or is it just easier to do selective doing, picking and choosing what you are going to dance with and what you aren't?

So in other words, she's slapping someone down for wanting to be clear that an character in her fic isn't an OC? And at the same time, hauling out the "all fanfiction is plagiarism" canard? That's got to be some sort of Wank Daily Double.

The scariest part is, there's a woman in XF fandom who's JUST LIKE THAT. It's truly frightening to have such evidence that there are TWO such delusional, megalomaniacal, paranoid individuals in existence.

And yes, I'm well aware that there are many more than that. I just refuse to think about it. :::sticks head in sand:::

[PS: [info]i_wank, but this is still good]

Okay, she has a board called Concerns & Suggestions and then tightly informs you that all grievances should be aired by email? Is this an unlabeled Big Red Button or what?

And now the picture in my head is almost SNL-esque.

(Scene: A coffee shop)

Barista: Sorry, there will be a two-minute wait on that cappuccino.

Tweaky: Well, I'll just have to KILL MYSELF, won't I! *whips out knife*

***

(Scene: A parking lot)

Tweaky: It seems.... like my parking spot... is taken. THERE IS NO MEANING! *dives in front of passing bus*

I'm an asshole, I know. But it's so easy.

I come to the net. Through systems, message boards, and communities, to this place: Fandom_Wank. My format: Smartass. To point and laugh. To point and laugh at newfound wankers. Their drama and angst. To offer them up to their mockers.
They say the trolls spooge from outside the net, and input wank for pleasure. No one knows for sure... and I don't really care.

Reminds of this whackjob of a girl on an RPG I was sucked into for awhile that claimed to have almost every mental illness known to man (mutually exclusive diagnoses, mind), and threatened to kill herself every time someone would complain if she got a fact wrong in a post. There must be a law against threatening suicide. Isn't there? Something along the lines of Any wanker who threatens to kill themselves over a fandom kerfuffle will be handed a gun, a noose, and a pack of razors, and given a free helicopter ride to the top of the tallest building in their city?

Yeesh. Haven't seen histrionics like this in a long time. *boggles*

Wading back through the hilarious wank... I went to the main page for that board, and noticed KI (alias Unstable Nut Woman had posted "An apology." It began like this:

" To all who it may concern:

I am sincerely sorry for my actions around the Edwards, and on this board. I guess I am the only one not allowed to have emotions, but that is the way it goes... "

and went downhill from there. Is there any Internet Law that covers people who use a bogus "apology" as one more chance to say, "I am being unjustly persecuted and it's everyone else's fault" (and then, when someone points out that they're just continuing the fight, whines, "But I apologized!")?
