Refreshing, zesty wank.
Did I say zesty? I meant "stinking of Hero Clix".

MAD MAD MERLIN doesn't like Watchmen! Other posters suggest he finish reading it before making a full judgment upon it. Still others say he's right and that Watchmen sucks. Yet others provide mini-Tolkiewank and mini-conservative-vs.-liberalwank. A subset of the first group of others notes that it's always in vogue to hate on stuff just to be contrarian, and that said behavior is stupid.

Then MAD MAD MERLIN leaps back into the wank he lubed everyone up for.

This is a very dangerous idea you have there. You are saying that anyone who diagrees with the majority is stupid and wrong. It is the right of every person to express their whether you agree with it or not. It is easy to go along with the crowd. Where would this country be if Rosa Parks had not refused to give up her seat on that bus a long time ago? It takes a lot of balls to go against the grain.

FUCK YES, D00Ds.

God, it's like a microcosm of penis, these comic nerd boards.

Comic book discussions: they're like the Civil Rights Movement, in a way.

That comparison just makes me... twitch. But truly, it is the essense of this wank.

Yes because disagreeing with your fellow comics geeks over the merits of Watchman is comparable to making a huge and dangerous public statement.

And that Lord Julius guy? *makes jerk off motion with wrist* What a condescending wanker.

I know zip about the series discussed here, but I gotta agree. Lord Julius really set off my 'self indulgent wanker' alarms.

Try being part of a board where a few of the members find the written relationship between a late teen-early twenties girl and a late twenty-early thirties guy is so morally wrong that the very mention of it causes a mini flame war.

Especially considering that "age" is something which cannot be correctly established.

I have been called a lot of names for defending this. 'Pedophile' being one of them.

Wouldn't be Kitty Pryde/Pete Wisdom by any chance, would it? =)

As of 1996, Kitty was made offically 18.

This would be of course becase Warren Ellis had her in bed with Pete Wisdom, thus making all arguments about her age suddenly pointless in the eyes of marvel.

Actually, you could do a good essay on Kitty Pryde as the Britney Spears of the X-Men, the perpetual virgin who never gets to grow up. But then you would be forced to say, cast Justin Timberlake as Pete Wisdom. And that is just wrong on a 1000 levels.

On the other hand, I had the weird experince as an Xbooks nut in college of a number of guys confessing to me their first crush on Kitty Pryde. It got weird.

Oooooh. An AU is forming. Yes. You have Britney as Kitty Pryde, Christina as Illyana Rasputin, Justin and Colussus, and say Wade Robson as Pete Wisdom. Or possibly Lance....

Nevermind. Must keep fandom's separate for good of the world.

Poor Kitty. Being the designated virgin must have sucked something fierce.

Though of course, it's not like I'd know anything about that.
