Keep an eye on this one
There's a new "inner circle" journal on LJ called The Foundation of HP Slash. It purports to be a way of helping everyone "discern the difference between BNFs and the little people. This will allow any random person or fandom newbie to check who he/she should follow, and who writes the best fiction. The lurker will then have a guide by simply checking out this journal's friends list."

This is bound to explode into wank any minute now. They're already lining up to say "But wait! I'm *not* a BNF!" And it should be very interesting to watch people recommending their favorite BNFs for inclusion. But my favorite part of it is the userinfo page, which makes it sound like the "BNFs" the journal follows are somehow part of it.

Surely this is an Act der Troll.*

Not that one puts anything past people, etc. But commenters thus far seemed mystified to have been added.

I think it's someone trying to stir up some wank. Or a Christmas joke.

I have lived all my life under some centipede infested rocks (Germany and Denmark are these rocks), so will someone please explain: What is a BNF?_?

But by perusing beingbnf's friends list I am instantly and conveniently apprised of the BNFs' opinion of said wank. I declare the journal a success!

Looks to me like an attempt at parody/satire by some bitter person who doesn't even know most of the people on the friends list. But that's just me.

I'd point and laugh, but I found a screencap of oiled Faramir on that journal's friendslist.

For my own sanity i'm assuming it's a joke. "Welcome to HP fandom! Now, here's a list of people's stuff you should read. DO NOT DEVIATE FROM THIS LIST. ALL OTHER WRITERS SUCK."

Uhhh...yeah.

This amuses me because I used to be (still technically am) a moderator for the infamous HPSlash yahoogroup and only one of our past, present, and future mods is even on there, and some of the people who are on there, are not exactly known for their slash.

*yawn*

Of course neither am I, until recently, and how I ended up modding that group at the time when my best-known fic was Snape/OFC is kinda funny.

You know, I really don't care whether it's a troll or for real. It's just stupid. BNF status means nothing. I have lots of methods of picking what I read, and many times I go by various recs (http://www.livejournal.com/users/rusalka_reviews) journals (http://www.livejournal.com/users/nmrecs) on (http://www.livejournal.com/community/goodfic) LiveJournal, or on people's individual websites.

I love how they claim that if you're not a Harry Potter BNF, you're not a BNF. Uh, welcome to the real world, folks. More than one fandom, enough wank for everyone.

However, either she requested removal or Aja has been demoted to LNF by this journal.

Apparently this obsessed fangirl goes by one thing:

If she is mentioned in a BNF'S LJ that is mentioned in a BNF'S LJ that is recced by a small little girl who has a crush on a homosexual fanboy who is married to the priest who is cheating on him with the pope---then it's a BNF.

Yes, I figured it out, all by myself!

NOBODY KNOWS YOU, NOBODY REALLY CARES THAT NOBODY KNOWS YOU so go post a "u sux" post and cry your little prepubescent heart out because we all know that's what's going to happen.
