Elitist Asshats Claim "Satire" As Cause of Erectile Dysfunction.

In the above (how did it take this long for them to find out? Wow.) Yuki Onna informs the readers that the entire site is satire and tells her minions "not to start a war." Meaning to not comment on f_w.

Then she feels the need to explain this to us. On f_w.

At least she realized she was incorrect and changed the Wasteland to The Waste Land on the user info page. "Thanks, Fandom Wank!" :D

I know someone already mentioned this, but gah. I gagged. I can't decide whether this girl is just incredibly pretentious and thinks she is God's gift to linguists, or is simply ignorant of how right-leaning Ayn Rand is and can't bother to admit what college she attends.

ADDED BONUS! After synanimus writes some godawful poetry because he wants to be able to read his own work, he bows out of lj-ing for good. ~~We hope, but it's too soon to tell.~~

	As I recall, the possibility of the community being satirical was discussed amongst F_Wers. However, between the fact that some very vocal members of said community seemed to take it quite seriously, and the fact that we've all known people with just such attitudes who were also very serious, it was a difficult call. You know, I never had any doubt the community creator meant it as satire - I just also had very little doubt, after the metaquotes discussion in which she could not stop making wanky, elitist, self-aggrandizing statements about her own intellectual superiority, that she is every bit as pompous and ludicrous as what she claims to be mocking.

That was what I was trying to get across with the whole "This wouldn't be anywhere near as funny if the community moderator hadn't spent most of yesterday proving she actually belives a lot of this" in the original post, but apparently it didn't really come across.

I'm so amused she corrected the mistake in the community info based on what she read at FW...

The one hallmark of the truly brilliant people I have met is that none of them felt the need to advertise their own intelligence. They're also smart enough to realize that there will always be someone *more* intelligent than they are, and so they generally refrain from making embarrassing spectacles of themselves in lame 'elite' internet communities.

People like so many of the the members of that community...they're not even offensive, they're just kind of sad and desperate and pathetic. Screaming how amazing and smart and special they are at the top of their lungs, in the hopes that someone will believe them.

Poor things.

Still, without them, my day would have so much less pointing-and-laughing! And that would be bad. Thank you, elite asshats, for bringing hilarity and joy to my online experience! *grin*

You know, at the end of this semester I'm transferring out of [name of Ivy League school here]. I'm probably moving my ass over to state school. I've developed an eye-twitch and a sense of loathing every time anyone even mentions [said Ivy League school].

You know why?

BECAUSE THOSE EXACT SAME FUCKING PEOPLE ARE IN ALL MY CLASSES.

I refuse to believe there are more people like that. All my classmates have gotten internet access and formed an lj community. It's gotta be the answer.

Know what's sad? I've actually met

regyt in person, and she's actually quite charming and hospitable. I find it depressing that she's agreeing with these losers. I think they all need to realize that "elite" is a state of being, it's something that doesn't need to be bragged about and thrown around. If you're elite, you don't have to say anything - it shows in what you do. Being "elitist" is an *attitude*, and it says that you have a nasty, superior personality, often with no good reason, and that you treat those around you like crap. It's *not* a compliment.

And that Heather Sarah person? She might as well change her name to Mary Sue. Not only does she come out screaming "I'm so intelligent and I know five languages fluently and I can play four musical instruments at a professional level" but she's oh-so-pretty and sexy and everyone wants to boff her for her good family name.

Dear, just go ahead and say it: My Daddy has more money than your Daddy. Because, really, that's all it comes down to. Maybe I could've gone to a nice school and learned to play four instruments and learned to speak five languages, too, if my Daddy made more than $8.35 an hour at a place that he's worked at for 21 years. And, really - your Daddy's money doesn't impress me that much.

But I do take solice in the fact that my Daddy would whup her Daddy's ass in a barfight. Of course, this is assuming her Daddy isn't a black belt in at least five different martial arts and a ten time world champion boxer or something equally silly.

But my Daddy has a big 12 string Yamaha guitar. And when all else fails, it takes people down *real* good. XD
