Having a WWE funded DVD = actress
I dropped by IMDB to see if I could confirm a rumor that WWE Diva Trish Stratus is going to play Sonya Blade in the 3rd Mortal Kombat movie.

She's not listed in the role, so I check the message boards.

Sadly, I'm more struck dumb by the idea of them even considering a 3rd Mortal Kombat movie. I'm sure once the shock wears off and the numbness settles in, I'll be able to fully appreciate the sheer wank in that link.

*snorts* I think the point has been missed by these folks. It's the third Mortal Kombat movie. If the first two movies are any indication, acting skills aren't really a requirement. So no worries!

And, if Trish's boobs are a D then I've got a dick three feet long.

The producers or whoever will probably only bring it out on DVD because putting a bomb like that in the theaters will break their pockets. They should have stopped with the first one. I saw that one 5 times.

It's been awhile since the second one, some people might be willing to give it a try again by now, especially if the previews look like they've redeemed themselves.
Don't judge it until it's actually been made and the previews come out. Then you can judge away!

Heh, just to provide some counterpoint to everyone screaming in horror at there being a third MK movie: I actually liked the others. Both of them. ;)

Then again, I've been a fan of MK stuff for ages. The first movie was pretty good, considering what it was, and managed to stay pretty true to the game's "plot". The second was cheesy as all hell, but I enjoy cheesy things. Cheesy things that are ALSO Mortal Kombat? How could I not love it? XD

That said...I really don't think anyone associated with wrestling should be playing Sonya. I have no idea who this woman is they're discussing, but my mental image involves the words "freakishly muscular". Which is not right. @_@

Trish ain't freakishly muscular. In fact, she's very athletic and quite agile, so *physically*, she's good for the role. With that said, however, I have to side with those shrieking in horror at a third movie. I LOVED the first one, watched it about a billion times, but the second movie took my love and beat it to a bloody pulp.

My favourite was the guy who corrected the other poster's grammar, then went on to accuse him of "hattin'" and proceeded to misplace various commas and question marks. There ought to be something in jurisimprudence about that... *runs off to check*

The same poster compared MK3 to Lord of the Rings and Harry Potter, on the grounds that they're all "fantasy movies."

Using Stratus would be the worse. There is no reason to get WWE's hype machine behind a movie. It's not like wrestling sports entertainment even reaches the same 12 to 35 year old demograph. Wrestling fans won't watch a movie like MK3; they're still waiting on Fried Green Tomatoes part 2 and Mona Lisa Smiles Even Wider.

Let me join in on the utter horror on the idea of a third MK movie. DEAR GOD, DIDN'T MK2 SUCK ENOUGH???

I dug the first MK, but the second one was awful. Awfully cheesy, trying to cram in too many characters...and for the most part the acting sucked. And i hate when it's not the same actors from the first movie playing the characters. No Christopher Lambert, and Tsang Tsung is dead (still has lustbunnies for Cary Tagawa). It was Teh Suck.

I'll probably still see MK3 though. Cause i'm masochistic that way.

Oh, and the comment about most women being D-cups...*looks at own B-cups, cries, goes to sell herself to the local freak show*. See the woman with abnormally small breasts! They say she can even go without a bra!

This guy's written *novels*, and as I recall they're pretty good, though he does get a little wordy/technical during fight scenes. I've read them several times over the years, heh. His shorter, miscellaneous stuff I also like, and I freely admit that the ending of "Coming of Winter" totally destroyed me. ^^;;;

Just thought I'd share, I've been in love with these for ages but had nobody to share the link with. Hopefully the fans here will enjoy! ^_^
