goatse.cx wank!
For anybody who has been under a rock for the last few years and somehow missed it, goatse.cx is a domain registered so that somebody would have a place to post a photo of a guy stretching his anus. It has achieved considerable notoreity, being right up there with tubgirl and the breast larvae on the list of links sent to unsuspecting and annoying newbies.

So the other day, somebody saw the photo, complained, and the people who run .cx suspended the site. I'm frankly amazed that it took so long.

As might be expected, the fans of goatse.cx have plenty to say about this. They're currently at six pages on the feedback forums, and growing. They've started a petition. They're complaining about censorship! "Help! Help! I'm being oppressed!"

John27: As you may know, the domain http://www.goatse.cx has been suspended as of today. This saddens me as a member of the internet community and as an American, as this domain has not only brought joy into my life, but joy into the lives of many others. By removing such an important part of the internet, you are hereby depriving millions of people their chance to experience its greatness.

Zeeness: This is the saddest day the Internet has ever known. The icon that is goatse defined a generation, and now it has been raped from us cold-heartedly. None of the emoticons supplied by this messageboard can express the pain I am experiencing.

Dasyati: You should be PROUD to have goatse.cx as your flagship domain. The novelty of showing it around to horrified newbies wore off a long, long time ago; instead, it has become a beacon for the lost ideal of free speech on the internet. So few sites these days are able or willing to stand for this concept so proudly and vividly. They all shy away from it in the fear that, god forbid, someone should be offended.
