As much as people enjoy wanking msallegro, you have to admit that some of the people who flame her make even better wank material.

She was nice enough to post it in her journal.

for the sake of sanity, where on God's green earth did you get the idiotic idea that the relationship between Frodo and Sam was homosexual? There is NOTHING homosexual between Frodo and Sam-NOTHING! Have you even read the books? The friendship between Frodo and Sam is one of the most beautiful things I have ever come across. How dare you malign something as sacred as real love? Love is not homosexuality or kisssing or fondling of any of that stupid trash, it is one of the most sacred things that ever came from our God and Creator, Jesus Christ. Love is utterly sacred. How DARE you malign it? How dare you? Tolkien may have been a Catholic, and not a Christian, but I know that he would have the decency to be truly apalled at the way you interpreted the friendship of Frodo and Sam. And if Frodo and Sam were real people--oh my blank, they would utterly despise you, and detest their fans--or at least, detest the fans who so foolishly percieve the relationship as homosexual. They would utterly abhor you.

Number one, for the sake of sanity would the person please write a rant that uses proper grammar? I for one would like to know exactly what fondling of stupid trash is. But I'm not touching the sake of sanity thing with a ten foot pole.

However, I do want to know when Catholicism wasn't part of Christianity. Because the last time I checked, everyone who was Christian was Catholic before the Reformation.

It then becomes the whole "my religion is superior and if you don't practice what I do, then you're wrong" which is rather boring. I love the people who feel they have the right to invoke the name of G-d when they critcize someone. After all, the flamer not only has all of Christianity behind her (not including Catholics since they're not Christian), but G-d as well.

Homosexuality isn't about love...it's about wanking! (As is heterosexuality. And bisexuality. And any other sort of sexuality, other than asexuality, which is wank-free.)

I'm guessing this person belongs to the WBC? Oh wait...she didn't refer to them as "fags", so probably not.

I think that was posted by my old neighbor, Miss Enna. One time she told me that catholics had to swear to worship Mary above god when they were confirmed.

Actually, I think the fact that MsA is trying to redeem the wank unto herself is a huge circle-jerky wank in and of itself.

I think I missed that part during my confirmation...
Choose a saint we admire to model our lives upon in the service to G-d yes, worship the mother Mary above G-d? Hardly. She does get props for bearing Jesus though.

Perhaps she should be smacked with a high school history text?

Choose a saint we admire to model our lives upon in the service to G-d yes, worship the mother Mary above G-d?

I do think that this is were some (older) misunderstandings arise from, though. For a long time, the majority of females being confirmed did chose Mary as their model (in my class, in the late 1980s, probaby about 1/3 did.) Taking that to the extent that we're supposed to worship our chosen saint above God is somewhat funny ...

Especially since one of the reasons I chose my saint (Cecilia) was because my (musically-inclined) parents had a couple of different books on her and I didn't need to go to the library to do my research paper. (Patron saint of music.)

I had several friends who chose particular saints because they thought their names were funny. Y'know, St. Elmo, etc.

If I'd been told I could worship Mary without worshiping God, I probably would've been a whole lot more receptive to the confirmation thing than I was. Ah, well.

I would suggest whoever said that takes up a missionary position. But that joke's so old it's grown mould...

it is one of the most sacred things that ever came from our God and Creator, Jesus Christ.

Ok, now my brain hurts. God is Jesus Christ?? SINCE WHEN? Mr lay-siege-burn-flood-and-exile-all-sinners is really the forgiveness guru of 30AD?
What happened - did God lay off the caffeine, start eating more fiber, or something?

Hang on, I know what happened - my mistake completely: God decided to become a born-again Christian.

Yeah, but the Trinity is distinctly different in Protestantism than Catholicism. Like, Catholics see each member of the Trinity as a separate entity, for the most part. From what I understand, most Protestant groups pretty much consider the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit(Ghost) to be different, interchangeable, names for the same thing.

apparently some protestants don't believe that catholicism is christianity, as they also worship mary and the pope.

Yeah. Mmm, tracts. My local Barnes & Noble got spammed -- everything in the New Age section got their Witch-hunting tracts. So did the Charmed and Young Wicca series in the YA section. All the HP stuff and most of the fantasy section got their HP tracts. The entire Gay and Lesbian section got the Fags 'R' Evil crap.

The people who work there were so not amused.

Tolkien may have been a Catholic, and not a Christian

Religious wanking, even better than fandom wanking. Maybe it's just me, but don't both Christianity and Catholicism follow the same prophet AND god anyway? Just have different views on how to worship and shit?

Love is not homosexuality or kisssing or fondling of any of that stupid trash, it is one of the most sacred things that ever came from our God and Creator, Jesus Christ.

Huh, I could have sworn on my goddess Irkalla's shrine that Jesus was the son of Jehova or whatever name you wanna use for the Judeochristian god. And aren't kissing and fondling ways of expressing love?

That flame makes my head hurt.
