Knitting Wank
Long time lurker, first time poster, sorry if I get this wrong.

The knitting community is usually pretty quiet. Today, it was in rare form. A member of the community posted about begining a novice knitters community for beginners. One of the mods took offense.

A member spoke up and was replied to by the mod. The member dared to call people knitting Nazis and the mod took offense

Polls are conducted.

Statistics are analyzed.

Geeklet chimes in on how to use Google.

It just keeps going and going. I personally found it hysterical that people could get this worked up over such minor things.

Enjoy.

I got in a few eye-rolls over that, I was planning on checking in on the action when I got home from work.

Shame on her, wasting so many precious exclamation points when there are all those punctuation-starved kids in Ethiopia...

Hm. Is this so sad it's funny, or so funny it's sad? Either way, I'm inclined to print this post off and take it down to Stitch'n'Bitch next week so all of my knitting friends can laugh at it.

Fezgig, from The Dark Crystal. He's the female lead's pet... something or other. In that shot, he's trying (successfully) to scare the hell out of the male lead.

You know what, you're right. It's been so long since I saw it, I forgot the exact context.

Mental note to self: add TDC to Netflix list.

Gah. It's shit like this that made me drop that community. Every little thing explodes into a kerfluffle. Though I have to admit that the God's magical pubic hair wank was pretty damn funny.

Only thing I might suggest is that this could go on [info]otf_wank...but we've seen the knitting wanks and yes, they are pretty wankeriffic. Crafting wanks in general seem to be, for some reason.

The funniest part? Knitting wank has actually happened before. No, seriously. Someone posted it to otf_wank a while back, and it made my entire week sunny and bright.

Wow. This is just my personal bias speaking, but I honestly didn't expect that level of hostility from a knitting community. Consider my horizons expanded.
