Update to [info]narcissam's coverage of Deathmarch Deathmarch: kia is apparently dissatisfied by the effects of previous wankage and has returned to protest use of the word "venom" as a forum acronym. Someone attempts to apply logic to the forum rules.

Right now this is mini-wank, thanks in part to heidi's quick replies. What a ...sober end to the Deathmarch difficulties.

Edited: Aww, kia's trimmed three screenfuls off the original post. All that's left are a couple lines and the quoted fragments in heidi's response.

From the forum discription: We've been inspired by the structure of the National Forensic League and the Oxford Union, especially their Rough Guide to Debating; posts in this forum should follow the concepts and precepts of extemporaneous speechmaking.

Why, I declare, it's almost as though the mods want to make it as hard as possible to post and argue there!

I <3 NFL argumentation rules, even though they still allow wankiness. It's usually just better-documented (or better-bullshitted), more erudite-seeming wank -- and doesn't everyone love that?

Better-bullshitted is more like it. My high school speech team's extemporaneous speakers produced more bullshit than your average rodeo. Other teams carried around carts of hanging files; we had a guy with the CIA Factbook, and I had the last week's worth of the Star Tribune and a few economics textbooks. Oh, man, could we BS.

I just can't imagine going through all that shit for Harry Potter, though. RESOLVED: That much rigor in discussing a poorly written and edited YA novel is wasted on its subject.

(...my Yamazaki icon is on my LJ account, so I'm using his counter Chiharu. XD)

Oh, yeah, that was the story of my last three years in high school. We had... a lot of Christian Science Monitor cuttings and a whole lot more CSM citations, since the CSM published daily and all.

BS is good, and hey, attempting to provide citations just makes the wanking that much meatier.
