It all starts when the list maintainer starts a new thread and inadvertently, a nasty flamewar:

It's not because she's dating Orlando. It's not because she's getting more publicity than the Mars Rover. It's because when I do searches looking for the latest news on Orlando Bloom, whom I am a fan of, I get this:

To my knowledge Kate has done nothing to annoy anyone. Oh yes, she's Orlando's girlfriend, I mean, how can she?!?!

I'll tell you. From the pics I have seen they are in love. They look damn cute together and one looks hotter than the other. I read several interviews and she doesn't seem to be as silly as some of you like to claim. I can't judge if she's a good actress cause I've never seen any movie with her. She seems to be average, no genius and no amateur. You pointed out some bad reviews, but there are also, as np pointed out, a lot of good reviews. But a lot of you chose to ignore them. You just made fun of the bad ones and completely ignored the good ones, cause they do not fit your picture of evil and dumbass kate who is just takes advantage of poor, poor Orli. But as I said, the pics of them tell another story. They look happy and in love. And don't you think that Orlando would notice if Kate just used him, do you really think that he is THAT blind and dumb?

OK which pictures have you been looking, at because the ones I've seen show them looking like they'd sooner be taking their 80 year old grandma to shop for incontinence pants than spending time in each other's company. Why does Orlando always look so much happier with other people than he ever does with her?

I think the only place they're "in love" is in the minds of the media. OK they might fuck or have fucked. I doubt Orlando is exclusive to her, especially not at this time of his career when he has to beat off offers of sex with a shitty stick!

And there's also that little matter of there being some uncertainty over his sexuality and whether he actually likes girls or not. Or prefers them to guys.

Subject: Gossip list is taking a break


I'm very sorry, but I can't deal with what's happening on the list at
the moment. So I've turned it off temporarily. This means no posts
will go through. I'll turn it back on Tuesday, Jan. 27.

Hopefully, this will give people a breather, you know, like taking a
break from all the venom and emotion and negativety and realize that
we're here because a group of actors formed a special bond making a
great movie and that's what unites us in our appreciation of them.

However, events have changed in my real life and I don't have the
computer time to monitor the list as I did before. So if the break
doesn't work, and things get ugly again, I honestly don't know what
I'll do.

I do care about the list. I thank everyone on here who tries to keep
it a wonderful place to talk about the guys. For those who like
causing trouble, congratulations.

I'm sorry I'm doing this on the night of the Golden Globes. The LOTR
